if your looking for a reliable cd and DVD writer then I recommend this one only thing about it I don't like is the loud noises it makes when loading and ejecting a disk other than that I find nothing wrong with it I rue comment it

Works great as all my past internal-superdrives have. A little noisy but not a problem. I purchase this almost entirely through Best Buy coupons! Great deal after "shelling out" thousands on a new computer.

I have a Macbook Air and I needed this to burn some CD's and am very satisfied with it. You just have to plug it in and hit "burn to CD," its just that easy.

Bought this to go with the Macbook Pro with Retina Display that does not have a CD/DVD slot. This works well; it connects immediately and performs as it should.

I've had no problems using this external DVD. My MacBook Pro came withouth a DVD drive because I didn't research that part, but was pleased to see the aesthetics are the same.

Apple products are the best of the best!! I have had several laptops and none of them ever came close to the MacBooks so I upgraded to an Apple Desktop and again nothing but spectacular.

I bought a mac book air because I read that mac laptops are great, but the one I got didn't have a CD drive. So I got this one, and it works great.

Ordered this on;line it was shipped and received. Setup was easy and it works great.

I love watching movies through Red box so this is the perfect product for my new MacBook. the first time I used it was pretty straight forward, however it does eat up some battery life since I also use blue tooth speakers when I was movies.

This thing is a great external hard drive. It is nice and stable too

Hard not having CD in my laptop anymore as I do still have times when I just need to access one so this was a reasonable add on.

I purchased this for my son for college, along with the MacBook. Great for College.

I bought this to go with my MacBook Air, as I need the ability to watch DVDs/CSs for school. 2 out of the 5 DVDs I tried on it kept reading: Error, unable to read (something like that),but all the DVDs came from the same company, same format. Then when I tried to eject them, they wouldn't. Had to go online to find a fix. Using some of the fixes listed PLUS needing to reboot the MacBook Air both times, eventually I was able to get them to eject. Bazaar. So while I was hoping to get rid of my Lenovo laptop, I can't as I need to be able to play the DVDs for school. Three years....

Easy set up with my new MacBook Air computer...Will enjoy downloading my favorite CD's instead of buying them thru iTunes...

Great addition to my MacBook Pro. Only needs 1 USB port vs others that need 2

Its 2020 and this drive has a permanent usb cable. First off there should be a port on the drive (preferable USB-C) so you can replace the cable if it goes bad or if you want a cable longer than the 10" one that's permanently attached. Second, all new MacBook pros have USB-C connectors and this thing is old school usb, so you have to get an adapter. This drive needs a redesign, especially considering how well done most Apple products are.
