Since Apple devices tend to work together well I got their SuperDrive. I have a Caldigit TS3 dock and thought I could connect the SuperDrive to it via one of the the USB ports since the SuperDrive does not come with a USB-C connection. However, when I connected the SuperDrive to the dock I got a message saying the USB ACCESSORY NEEDS POWER, Connect "Apple USB ..." to a USB port on this Mac. I found out that I need a passive USB-C to USB adapter for the SuperDrive to work. Once I got a passive USB-C to USB adapter it works great. It would have been nice if the SuperDrive would have worked with the TS3 dock or came with a USB-C connector.

As technology changes, this will last and still be useful! Imagine my surprises that new computers don’t have DVD/CD! Now I don’t have to worry! I still like my DVDs and CDs and this is so portable and sleek.
