the new apple computer didn't have the cd rom, how ever, no complaints. my daughter will use it store important colledge class home work to transfer to the new computer.this is a great product. I like the size and weight of the imac pro unit. don't always need the cd-rom. she will carry it with the new back pack when needed. thank j

I have only used the SuperDrive a couple times, but it is what I expected. It works much the same way the one built into my old MacBook did. All it takes is having a way to plug into usb (may need the adapter on newer Macs) and going through iTunes, it will ask if you want to upload the CD to your computer.

Nice and quiet, fast and easy to operate. Wish Apple would come out with a blu ray player, but this DVD drive works very well.

Used to upload cd's to my mac, easy to use and fast.

This drive was really easy to use right from the box. When used with my MacBook Pro, there was no setup required like a lot of the other drives on the market. It works just like a cd/DVD drive that is built into your computer without the weight in the computer.

The drive works fine. Anyone who has a new Apple computer needs this. It's less of a choice but a necessity until CD's and DVD's are completely done away with. As far as buying Apple or the off brand- it will never be my recommendation to buy a third party product and think it works as good with apple computers than an apple product.

I am the old school type. I still have 3.25in disks in my basement, not to mention many tools which I still use which are on CD/DVD when I have certain projects I am working on in my spare time. I understand companies are moving away from physical media, but I still use it frequently and am very glad I have Superdrive on hand.

This drive is so easy to connect and use. You simply plug it into your computer, insert a CD and upload into your music, video or photo file. It is that easy. It is the second one I have owned, and both have been excellent quality devices.

When I bought my pro I hadn't purchased a laptop for a few years and had learned that most laptops do not come with a cd/dvd drive you have to buy an external one. I bought this one to have it match and be the same brand and bought it as an open box. It works great for what it's needed for. I haven't had any issues yet with it. Only downfall is the need to bring it out anytime I need to insert a disk.

As a new owner, this external CD-RW is great for playing CDs, burning CDs & watching DVDs. It probably has more uses that I don't even know about yet. Very pleased with this product!

I didn't know which model to choose from but was very fortunate to pickup this one, I also expected to pay more for my Apple SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer Dvd±rw/CD-RW Drive - Silver. it is very compact and doesn't take up much space. The quality is good and it plays very clear. I can watch and listen to anything i want to.

Grant, the BB sales associate, said I could add this since the MacBook Pro doesn't have the capability to play DVD/CD's. Since I don't do iTunes or other streaming but do enjoy listening to CD's/watching DVD's I did purchase this and am totally happy with it. Wanted to stay with the Apple brand. Buy quality ... buy once.
