I am the old school type. I still have 3.25in disks in my basement, not to mention many tools which I still use which are on CD/DVD when I have certain projects I am working on in my spare time. I understand companies are moving away from physical media, but I still use it frequently and am very glad I have Superdrive on hand.

I use this device quite heavily. I rely on it rather than any other device for movies and documentaries that I have on DVDs because I can take it from room to room and do not need to have a screen in the rooms in which I am working, as that would be very inconvenient (and costly).

The drive works fine. Anyone who has a new Apple computer needs this. It's less of a choice but a necessity until CD's and DVD's are completely done away with. As far as buying Apple or the off brand- it will never be my recommendation to buy a third party product and think it works as good with apple computers than an apple product.

When I bought my pro I hadn't purchased a laptop for a few years and had learned that most laptops do not come with a cd/dvd drive you have to buy an external one. I bought this one to have it match and be the same brand and bought it as an open box. It works great for what it's needed for. I haven't had any issues yet with it. Only downfall is the need to bring it out anytime I need to insert a disk.

Works seamlessly with my Mac Book Pro. It appears more sturdy than the Dell as this one takes the CD/DVD into the player rather than sending a tray out to receive the tray as Dell does. Great product. (Wish Apple still built this into their laptops)

Grant, the BB sales associate, said I could add this since the MacBook Pro doesn't have the capability to play DVD/CD's. Since I don't do iTunes or other streaming but do enjoy listening to CD's/watching DVD's I did purchase this and am totally happy with it. Wanted to stay with the Apple brand. Buy quality ... buy once.

Communicated extremely easily with my Mac Book Pro. Quick transfer of music CD's to my computer's music library. Haven't tried using it for watching DVDs or for data backup yet but would expect same ease of use. Would recommend this for anyone with a Mac Book.Reasonably priced and readily available in my local Best buy.

I do miss laptops that have the dvd/cd drive included. Besides that, it works as you would expect it to. The only issue is that the apple laptops never have enough ports on them!

I didn't know which model to choose from but was very fortunate to pickup this one, I also expected to pay more for my Apple SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer Dvd±rw/CD-RW Drive - Silver. it is very compact and doesn't take up much space. The quality is good and it plays very clear. I can watch and listen to anything i want to.

As a new owner, this external CD-RW is great for playing CDs, burning CDs & watching DVDs. It probably has more uses that I don't even know about yet. Very pleased with this product!

The product is sleek, light weight and easy to use

This device hooks up to an Apple computer very easily. It does allow you to archive information to/from a CD and probably a DVD, which is why I bought it. The device played a DVD on my laptop and therefore would stream to my TV very well. It does not, however, play a Blu-Ray. This is a shame as functionality/sales would increase dramatically given that most new laptops don't have a CD/DVD/BD player installed.

I bought this to go along with my Airbook because I often burn DVD's of videos for those friends/family members who cannot accept files. Also, although I use the cloud to back up my downloaded music I always feel more comfortable if I have another means of back up - just incase. This portable drive fits nicely in my computer case and is very quick.
