This is just a standard read-write external drive that you need for burning files or reading, playing CDs or DVDs, etc. It works like it should. There is no tray that slides in and out to load or remove disks. I have not tried it with any disks that have paper labels that can cause hang ups if they are curled on the edges.

We had just bought an Apple computer and my wife suggested we get a USB drive for it. The salesman recommended this drive for our new lap top. It is very easy to connect to the computer and works really well. You can thank the Best Buy salesman for this sale.

Sometimes you just can’t find the album you want to listen to online. Converting cds to mp3 is simple and the style still fits with Apple design quite well.

Old reliable product fir those of use who still use the CD/DVD media. It will no doubt still be usable long after the media will have gone to the graveyard long with floppy disks, ZIP disks and other electromechanically readable media

I still use many cds and dvds with my computer so an external drive was a must. The casing matches my macbook pro hence the elegant and clean statement. For my money, Apple just makes good products and as there's no Apple Store where I live, the local Best Buy Apple department is great and the tech people know the product.

I bought a new iMac ,when I hooked it up I found no drive ,so I looked them up on bestbuy.com ,and liked this one the best,when I went to the store to pick it up the sales person told me just plug it in and follow directions ,it was that simple,it took 2 mins to hook up and use.works great no issues yet.

Works great for what it does small compact and useful. Plays CDs DVDs pretty much everything

I like the fact apple stopped implementing drives to their laptop lines, because not only it gives room more battery, or memory, but makes the computer lighter. This Drive works extremely well and its sturdy and you can tell it has been made well. Do not get any other drive if your working with an Apple computer. Chose this one!

The SuperDrive is great - my new Retina MacBook Pro doesn't have a CD drive so I bought this to read and burn CDs and DVDs. It works exactly like it should and I couldn't be more pleased!

It works just fine with my Mini-Mac and smart TV, as I'd hoped. Now all my dvd's and cd's are usable again. It's minimal size is especially appreciated.

I purchased this because I still have a lot of CDs and software discs. I usually purchase music digitally now but I still find CDs that I never uploaded or will get a CD from a family member who no longer listens it. The drive works exactly as I need it to. No complaints at all. Perfect addition to my new Macbook Pro.

This superdrive is slim, and fast, very pleased with it.

The DVD drive is need for writing CD's & DVD's. Easier way to install software. It works great, easy to install and use. For the price of the laptop my expectation would be to have one arleady built in like the competive brands for less money and upgraded processor.
