I have one of the MAC BookPros without DVD and this product is just needed from time to time. Had an older one which bit the dust after 5 years of usage thus I expect similar if not more time as DVDs are used less. Flawless usage experience and highly recommended.

We got this to pair with a new iMac, which no longer comes with an integrated optical drive. We like the build quality, as well as its small footprint and stylish design. It can sit out next to the computer without making itself an eyesore, which isn't often the case with peripherals.

Works great! Easily connects to my MacBook Pro and automatically starts running. Every CD or DVD I've played so far, using the Apple SuperDrive has worked perfectly. Love how quickly it loads and begins playing.

I opted to purchase a cheaper non-Apple brand drive just because of the price difference, but after reading the reviews, I got this drive. I read the negative reviews about ejecting the disk and don't understand what the problem is. Just click and eject!! No problems and love that it's so slim and discreet in size.

This product is ready out of the box, easy to use, but the cord length is too small, it has to sit very close to the computer.

The drive works great and is plug and play . it copies beautifully . Ecstatically it matches the other apple products. It has fast play back and burning ability. It is slim ,but packs a lot of power. Love it !!! If you have a apple it is best to purchase the products made for it , it is a lot easier.

Bought this because the SuperDrive in my iMac went out. It just kept spitting the discs back out, without reading it. Figured that Apple should work with Apple. Come to find out, it doesn't work. Had to search online and enter a piece of code in terminal. Reboot, and it works like a champ. Hopefully it lasts longer than the one in my iMac. It does what it's supposed to, but I rated it 4 out of 5 because of the extra step, that I had to look up, to get it to work.

We use a cd rom to produce copies of songs for our children's choir at church. We also use the cd to watch some movies as well as listen to music. It is a great help and works flawlessly. I am new to the Apple products but have had little problem working my way through the learning curve.

Purchased a MacBook Pro without an internal drive and decided to get the external drive just to have. I've only used it a couple os times but it is a must have for those certain situations that involves using a cd drive or even placing music onto your laptop if you like to still buy cd's such as myself.

Set up was quick and easy. Just plugged in the USB connection and viola it works! Thought I would miss my previous built in optical drive but didn't use it that much. This is great because it's there when I need it, but my computer is thinner and lighter without it. Burns cd's and dvd's fast.

I bought the CD/DVD player with the purchase of the Apple computer as it is a mandatory device for my purposes. I just plugged into the computer and watched a video to check out the retina display. The only criticism I have is that there isn't an eject button on the player itself, it has to be ejected out from the computer.

The cost of a generic product to save a few bucks and hoping you don't have a problem with compatibility makes no sense. This DVD drive worked excellent with the laptop actually no installation I just plug it in and started using it, that's the way things should work for what the consumer pay for these items.

I wish I would have bought this sooner. I watch DVD’s with my desktop computer. It is very easy to use. It loads the movie easily, and is not complicated at all. I love to pull out my old movies and watch them.

I needed to add CD and DVD capability to my MacBook Pro 13". I have an extensive CD library that this reader allows me to create numerous playlists for both my iPod and burnings of CD's for my wife's antique car CD player. It's a low cost addition to my laptop. Also, it's sleek design matches my MacBook Pro.

We never thought we would need a cd drive when we bought the laptop. But, my daughter needed it for college. We tried the LG drive for less money. It was very slow and flimsy. This drive from Apple is well made and works well.

I was on the fence about purchasing this with so many negative reviews. But I wanted to stick with an Apple product to go with my new MacBook. No regrets here, everything works great, no problems at all.
