I recently purchased the new MacBook Pro 2016 80 1707 and bought this DVD drive as a supplement just in case I needed it although I haven't had to use it yet I'm glad that I was able to find it in an open box model it's always good to have even though you don't know when you'll Need it

Works great! Easily connects to my MacBook Pro and automatically starts running. Every CD or DVD I've played so far, using the Apple SuperDrive has worked perfectly. Love how quickly it loads and begins playing.

I got a new iMac which has no disc drive init. With a great many CD-ROMs of historical research and maps, I needed a good drive for them. I researched many and decided on this unit. I am highly satisfied with it. It connected quickly and does the job nicely and efficiently.

I purchased this shortly after I bought my first Apple computer (Imac). I felt it would be necessary to have this since the IMac did not include a disk drive. So far, I've used it to watch a movie and save music from my cds. It works great and I'm sure it will come in use in the future.

With so much on the fly work these days, it’s good to keep a disc drive handy that works seamlessly and effortlessly with your MacBook. I have only used it a few times, but it was a lifesaver each time.

The drive on my desktop computer died years ago. I bought a cheap replacement, and it of course only worked for a short period of time. This time I bought the Mac version which is working like a charm. You get what you pay for.

After purchasing an LG to use with my Mac, I realized you get what you pay for. Yes, this one cost more, but sooooo much better. You plug it in and go. Software is already on your Mac. I haven't burned a DVD yet so I'm not sure how well that works. But playing a DVD is perfect.

It works just fine with my Mini-Mac and smart TV, as I'd hoped. Now all my dvd's and cd's are usable again. It's minimal size is especially appreciated.

I have a MacBook Pro and as is with most computers today there is no disc drive. I plugged it in with no setup and started burning CD's for my wife. It was as if it was already an original part of the computer. No downloading of drives. You pay more but you get the quality you expect from Apple.

Got the 27" 5k Mac and totally surprised no DVD drive. No matter what Apple feels about a DVD drive some of us still use them. Now that I vented drive works flawlessly. No issues to setting it up. Does what it is designed to do. Very compact, fits nicely on the base of the stand under the screen.

One aspect I wasn't crazy about with the newer laptops is a lack of an optical drive. I still need one, so I purchased this one. It's fine for what I need, might have been a little pricier than I wanted to pay, but I figured the Apple drive would cause the least problems with compatibility issues.

I am not a wiz kid when it comes to computers. My needs are simple and therefore I probably would not get the maximum potential out of this product. However, it suits my purposes just fine. It was easy to set up and very easy to use.

I purchased this when I bought a new Mac. Not happy that I had to purchase it separately, but I suppose external is better in the long run as it's easier to replace. So far, I've only played DVDs, but it does work well for that. Just plug into a USB port on the computer and it's ready to go.

I purchased an iMac and couldn't live without a disc drive. I have been able to digitize my old CDs and it's great if you want to play DVDs, create CDs, etc. It also fits nicely on the monitor stand.

This is my first external dvd drive which is easy to hookup. Just plug it in and voila. I only used it once to install software and it worked fine. I have not burned any dvd’s Yet, but I do not expect any difficulty. It’s slim and contemporary and well built.

I wish I would have bought this sooner. I watch DVD’s with my desktop computer. It is very easy to use. It loads the movie easily, and is not complicated at all. I love to pull out my old movies and watch them.

Everything about this this Superdrive is great. Was even able to set it up to be able to watch DVD's from it straight to my Apple TV. Works great. Wish it could play blu rays but I'm not too bothered by that. I would recommend it for anyone looking to get a solid portable disc drive.

After purchasing my new iMac I wanted to get a read and writer external disc drive. After an extensive Internet search I narrowed my choices to 3 different units. I brought in my 3 choices to Best Buy, and with the assistance of the salesperson I decided that the Apple unit would be my best choice.

Good and solid, compact and portable too! Perfect for those who not need a DVD drive or burner all the the time.
