Needed a way to upload music (from CDs) to ITunes as my MacBook does not have a port. Didn't need to read instructions. Just plugged into the USB port , popped in a CD and ITunes automatically opened and imported the CD.

I am unsure whether I agree with Apple's policy of not providing a drive with MacBook Pro, adding further cost to one's purchase. However, the USB powered drive is fine. Even though more costly than generic drives available, we chose to buy the Apple product in case of compatibility issues.

Plugged it in, It just worked. Pure Apple. 1st DVD went right in with a nice smooth sharp high-quality action, and I was able to play (and import the content with another program), no problem. It's just like the older internal drives. I haven't tried writing anything yet.

I purchased the Apple Superdrive 8x External USB Double-layer Dvd±rw/cd-rw drive for my daughter's Mac Pro 13 which she uses for college. She has had no issues, but has only used it a couple times since Christmas 2016.

I needed a CD drive for my job. It took me a month to purchase this Apple SuperDrive, since I lost my rewards points when I first ordered. Now that I have the Drive, I am so happy to be able to play and record with my MacBook Pro. As with any Apple product, the SuperDrive works easily and flawlessly.

I need this to download and copy and it work fine.

This Mac Super Drive lives up to its reputation as a reliable addition to your Mac products. I use this often to burn music to discs and it is very easy to use. I highly recommend it. Worth the low price.

We had to get this when we upgraded our computer to a Mac,the only problem with macs is there is nowhere to burn a disc or cd so if this is something you like to do on a computer than this is your only option but it works great and it literally took about a minute to hook it up one cable and boom your done

Grapevine awesome product. It works very well. I use a lot my grandkids like it cause this reason the insert in disc.

I have used it. It works well, very easy to use. Purchased it to transfer photos from CD to my laptop. Couldn’t believe I bought such an expensive laptop without even having a CD drive, had to do something about it and this worked out well enough.

Since the iMac doesn't have a drive you will need this for CD's and DVD's. It works great and its easy do use.

I purchased this to go with my iMac computer and it works seamlessly smooth and makes everything much simpler. I use it mostly for business uploading software and while on trips to watch movies Works just like any other PC DVD player.

Purchased this external DVD / CD reader writer to replace my MacBook laptop and old iMac, both of which had built in readers/drives. My new iMac does not have it built in and the external drive works just fine for my needs. Now I can get rid of extra machines that I do not need anymore.

This CD Drive is so easy to use! All I have to do is plug it in to the USB and it works as if the CD drive was part of the laptop--I've had no issues with it! The only downside is that you have to carry two things separately if you are moving around with your laptop at all

I bought this because a lot of people recommended this product to go along with my MacBook Pro. It’s been excellent so far. I burn a lot of dual-layer DVDs for filming jobs. It’s pretty fast and I can hardly tell that it’s running, since it’s so quiet.

Simple add on to one's Mac. Plug in the USB and you're good to go. Works good at both reading and writing. I feel like this is a durable drive that should last a long time. The price is well worth it for a quality drive.

Since Apple's Mac didn't come with a internal DVD input output device, I needed to purchase one that was compact and durable with a USB connection. The Pioneer External Player fit the bill, it is compact, easy to use, plays regular DVDs and Blue-Ray discs, and is a name brand of GREAT QUALITY!!!

I was wanting a DVD drive for my iMac because they don't build one in and this worked great. One wire to hook up and it's small so if you don't want it setting on your desk when your not using it storing it away isn't a problem and just plug it in when you need it.

I got the super drive as a gift. I have recently got my first macbook and am loving it so far; but alas no disc drive to upload cd's to the cloud. The superdrive solved that problem. It works seamlessly with the mac. It reads both CD's and DVD's I would recommend to mac users needing a disc drive.
