Everything about this this Superdrive is great. Was even able to set it up to be able to watch DVD's from it straight to my Apple TV. Works great. Wish it could play blu rays but I'm not too bothered by that. I would recommend it for anyone looking to get a solid portable disc drive.

I purchased this when I bought a new Mac. Not happy that I had to purchase it separately, but I suppose external is better in the long run as it's easier to replace. So far, I've only played DVDs, but it does work well for that. Just plug into a USB port on the computer and it's ready to go.

I purchased this Apple SuperDrive last year and have been very happy with it. It runs quiet and is reliable. The burning process is quick. I also love the simple styling of it. I would definitely recommend this drive to those who are in the market.

Seems fine so far. I liked it so much I ordered a second one. I did have a problem with using on the Mac Mini because I did not know the secret phrase hidden in the operating system. I googled the problem and got directed to the hidden phrase (something about all volumes). After that we got along tickety boo.

I wanted to put some songs on my iPhone from old cds I had and my air Mac didn't have a cd drive. So I bought this and I works great!

I have used it. It works well, very easy to use. Purchased it to transfer photos from CD to my laptop. Couldn’t believe I bought such an expensive laptop without even having a CD drive, had to do something about it and this worked out well enough.

After purchasing my new iMac I wanted to get a read and writer external disc drive. After an extensive Internet search I narrowed my choices to 3 different units. I brought in my 3 choices to Best Buy, and with the assistance of the salesperson I decided that the Apple unit would be my best choice.

Macbook pros no longer come with built in DVD drives, and that is good. But sometimes you need one! This external drive is just what you need. It rips and burns DVDs and CDs just like an internal DVD drive, and it makes your MacBook laptop much much lighter since it is not internal!

Simple add on to one's Mac. Plug in the USB and you're good to go. Works good at both reading and writing. I feel like this is a durable drive that should last a long time. The price is well worth it for a quality drive.

Plugged it in, It just worked. Pure Apple. 1st DVD went right in with a nice smooth sharp high-quality action, and I was able to play (and import the content with another program), no problem. It's just like the older internal drives. I haven't tried writing anything yet.

I can't imagine being without a cd/dvd drive with any computer. Personally, I think Apple should include the drive as a standard feature with the iMac. Heavens knows it was considerably more costly than most Window products that come with a cd/dvd drive. It is a great addition to my 27 inch iMac.

This DVD/CD is very easy to plug in and play. It allows me to see all of my pictures that I had previously stored on CD's. I didn't notice that my new desktop did not have a built in DVD/CD drive. Thankful that this device is available.

Good and solid, compact and portable too! Perfect for those who not need a DVD drive or burner all the the time.

Needed a way to upload music (from CDs) to ITunes as my MacBook does not have a port. Didn't need to read instructions. Just plugged into the USB port , popped in a CD and ITunes automatically opened and imported the CD.

Sometimes you just need a CD/DVDRW drive. This one fit the bill. The iMac doesn't come with a drive and sometimes you just need one. The install was seamless, just plug and play. Definitely a great addition to your existing system.

I purchased the Apple Superdrive 8x External USB Double-layer Dvd±rw/cd-rw drive for my daughter's Mac Pro 13 which she uses for college. She has had no issues, but has only used it a couple times since Christmas 2016.

I love the CD/DVD drive- it is very easy to use - you don't have to be computer literate to use it, and it just as good as having a built in one in your computer, but the best part is, you only have to take it when you need it, so it doesn't make you computer heavy all the time. Great product and good price.

I bought Apple SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Drive and its totally perfect and easy to use. This prodduct is stick on the table not like other brand is very light, it move when take the cd or dvd out from the dvd/dc drive and it doenst look cheap. 100 percent recommended!

I am unsure whether I agree with Apple's policy of not providing a drive with MacBook Pro, adding further cost to one's purchase. However, the USB powered drive is fine. Even though more costly than generic drives available, we chose to buy the Apple product in case of compatibility issues.
