My iMac didn't come with a CD ROM drive so I needed this external drive for installing/burning CD's to/from iTunes. A cinch to set up and even easier to use. For those who contemplate the purchase, if you utilize CD's of any kind even a handful of times in a years time, it's worth the price.

I needed to purchase a external CD since the new MacBookPro do not have a built-in (I guess CD is going way of the dinosaur, since most apps are purchased online now). The laptop is much lighter without it and it is kinda nice to set it aside when I do not need it.

After purchasing an Apple MacBook Pro, this drive was a much needed addition.I run a small business and I needed bookkeeping programs to be added to my new computer. Without this drive I would be dead in the water with running my business.

I purchased this so I could burn CD's to iTunes. Seems to work as advertised. Set up was almost nonexistent; just plug it in and go. It was on sale when I purchased it, so I feel like I got a great deal.

I wanted to watch DVDs on my laptop but I had no internal drive so I decided to splurge on this external one. Apple never disappoints. Works flawlessly. No issues with playback. Very nice, steak design. Love it !

I had a tough time deciding between an older Macbook pro with Superdrive internally, or a new Macbook pro with an external Superdrive. With how small and light everything is now, it was a great decision to go separate. Plus, now I can share my Superdrive between other macs.

When I was purchasing my new iMac, the sales associate said hey you are gonna need this...and I'm like really? But I am a business person and I had to get this because you never know. Sleek and beautiful. Havent needed it yet but good to have.

I have read the reviews and waited to purchase the Fitbit HR Charge. It was slightly difficult to get started but once I did it has been very easy to use. I am a little apprehensive to wear in the shower but from all the YouTube videos it seems like this should work fine also.

Got this so that I could download music from cd's to ITunes and then to IPods. Does exactly what I wanted it to do and so far has worked flawlessly. It is also compact and looks good on the desk next to the Mac. I could not be happier with the way it hooks up and then performs like it should.

QUALITY, YOU CAN'T EVER GO WRONG WITH STICKING TO THE SAME NAME BRAND. I NEEDED THIS TO VIEW MY ULTRASOUND PICS THAT WERE ON DVD... SO EXCITING. IT WAS PRETTY EASY TO NAVIGATE WITH MY APPLE LAPTOP

I absolutely feel inl8ve with my MacBook when I got it. The only 'problem' was that they no longer have cd drives so I bought this one. It is absolutely perfect and it very easy to carry around. Being a college stupid I like having everything all together in one bag.

Once again Apple has done the wonder of making life simple. Although some dispute the "ease" of removing the hard drive all together, I first bought another drive, which was a nightmare. Took it back and got the Apple, which I should have done in the first place, and the rest is history.

The new MacBook retinas are wonderful except for the lack of a disc drive. I'm baffled why Apple built them that way but happy the external disc drives are so lightweight and easy to use and am getting used to working this way.

I purchased this with my MacBook Pro so that I would have it and I love it.. I have downloaded all of my dvd's on to an external with this and it works GREAT.. It is lightning fast at processing and displaying the information.

We need a cd drive since our mac doesn't come with one. It's mall and compact and was on sale when we bought it so it was a win win! Def. recommend this. It's super compact which makes it easy for storage when we aren't using it or easy to put next to our computer when we are.

This superdrive does everything in the product description. Portable and efficient. All Apple products are user friendly and intuitive so you get all your work done fast and you have more time to relax, lay back and be entertained.

overall, works just as an external dvd-rom player should: PnP. operation is pretty silent compared to other dvd-rom units i've used. no issues out of the box, so that is always a good thing. obviously, with apple product you pay a premium which shows in product fit and finish as well as packaging. somewhat difficult to compare to other non-apple units which sell for around $30, but i suppose you get what you pay for.

This DVD+-RW/CD- RW Drive is awesome. This drive is very quiet and runs off of the USB port of the computer. I hate that Apple doesn't include CD drives anymore. I got this one as an open box, so it was a little cheaper with the same warranty.

I bought this drive for my iMac mini and it worked fantastic. I've used it once to install Office and put it away. With it's slim, space-saving design I could keep it out but alas I don't have a lot of use for discs at the moment.

I never thought that I would be able to run dvd's on my Macbook Air, so when I heard about it I didn't hesitate to buy one. I would definetly recommend this to my friends!
