I was dismayed when I saw that I had to purchase this in addition to my new iMac since it no longer comes with one. The price was reasonable so I purchased it at the same time. It was so easy to install! Just plug the USB into the back of the iMac and it works perfectly!

This product was perfect for my need of an external disk drive. At first it was a little confusing because there are no buttons on the disk drive, so you have to do it through the computer to eject stuff, but overall it is a great product and am extremely happy with it!

Lacks an eject button, difficult to backtrack on a DVD, the cord is built in. It works well, but for this price I think it should have more features. Check out the reviews on the Apple site and you may want to go with a different external DVD drive.

Great product from Apple for my Mac Mini. Although, I regret that I have to purchase a Superdrive rather than having it included in the computer, but that's for another review. Buy this if you want it to match and perform like the rest of your Apple products.

I occasionally need a cd or DVD player and my MacBook Air doesn’t have the drive. This add on allows me to store it in my desk and attach it to my MacBook when I need to use it. I got it on sale and have been very happy with my purchase.

Tried the LG drive and brought it back. I decided to spend the money to purchase the Apple product. The easiness to use this super drive works well with my MAC MINI and Air. Great foot print and very portable.

This drive is extremely useful for every macbook owners without a cd drive. It runs great and very helpful to read disks when needed to. I would highly recommend this to every macbook owners or even ultrabook owners. However, do read the manual carefully for operation.

I love it. Since my Macbook doesn't have a a disk drive this really come in handy. Everyone would tell you to get a cheaper brand. But you just spent at least 2K on a computer why would you want to put a watered down disk drive on the computer?? GET THIS DRIVE

I bought this Apple SuperDrive external USB double layer DVD CD drive for watching DVDs with my MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and for importing CDs into iTunes and it works really well.

This new Superdrive is great. My wife just got her MacBook Pro and was wanting to download some music from some of her CD's. Since the MacBook Pro doesn't have a CD drive, this was the answer to her prayers other than going to iTunes and buying them.

I bought this for the few instances when we still need physical media on the new MacBook Pros with Retina Display. The build quality seems solid and it worked without issues on three different MacBooks of varying ages.

I had purchased the Apple Mac Book Air and wanted the option of the DVD drive. I purchased this and have had no issues with it whatsoever. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to eject a disc, but that is mainly because I am new to the Apple laptop as well.

While we tend to do everything digitally, on occasion we need to utilize a dvd/cd. The SuperDrive pairs perfectly with our Retina iMac and MacBook Pro. Looks amazing and operates quickly and quietly.

Being that my iMac does not have a superdrive, this is a must have. Although most of everything is digital now, every now and then you will find the need to have a disk drive.

I didn't want to buy an external burner but my iMac broke and none of the new ones come with CD burners. I burn photos to cd on a regular basis. I am very happy with this purchase. It works fast and does the job well.

As you know macs don't have a cd drive because it takes up space and makes the computers heavier so in order to add cd to the computer you need this and it works!

We purchased a new iMac for our second home. Our first one had a port for adding music and movies in the unit, but this one did not. We haven’t used it yet but we’re happy to find one that would accomplish that task at such a great price.

The MacBookAir is a fabulous machine, but the lack of an input for CDs and CD Roms is a pain, especially if you want to input music into itunes, so this drive is really useful. It's superslim and has the same colourscheme and styling as the MacBook too. Recommended.

I purchased this drive three+ years after buying my laptop. Despite the age difference and the various OS upgrades I have made along the way, the drive connects to my laptop and works like a charm! I wish it was a bit cheaper as I don't use the drive often but such is life.
