Can use it for my desktop and our laptop. Small and compact. Connects by USB cable.

The only downside to my new iMac was that it didn't come with a disc drive. Which is essential for downloading certain programs (like Photoshop). I purchased this neccessay drive reluctantly, but it's great and easy to use.

I know Apple wants to streamline and making their newer iMacs without an optical drive is a good way to do that, so the fact that I miss having one built in is the only thing I do not like about this external drive. Other than that, it works just fine.

Needed to transfer video of performances to DVD. Purchased. For the band to use. Works well as far as I know. What was great was the ease of purchase. Placed on line, then an email was sent when ready to pick up in store. All completed in about an hour.

My old iMac had the dvd/cd slot built in, but I finally bought a new super duper iMac & needed a way to put all my old cds in my music folder.... this did the trick! It works great!

As an older user, I really regret the lack of built-in DVD drives, but there is a solution for those of us who still utilize that technology. This external drive works seamlessly with our new Mac. Plug it in, and everything is quickly accessible.

Great device to pair along side my Mac Studio. It helps for when I need music and more.

Fast and easy ……needed something to download pictures off of old cds that had photos on them …… this worked

The DVD drive is sleek with a small footprint, and a must if you do any kind of serious work on your Mac. Out of the box, plug in the usb connection and I was ready to go. No software to worry about. And, very reasonably priced...love it!

I really like the external CD drive. It’s simple to use and compact. I download CD’s to my I-Tunes quickly.

The MacBook Air is perfect for someone who travels with it due to its function capabilities and light weight, though it does not have a DVD or CD player. The Super Drive 8x is the perfect accompaniment for that purpose, easy to use and runs well.

It's just a DVD drive that matches my MacBook Pro. Nothing special, but nothing underwhelming either. I plugged it in and it automatically worked. I used it to obtain the digital copies from movie disks I own. It has the build quality I expect from Apple. I kinda wish they'd upgrade all their disk drives to Blu-Ray but it's not often a disk of any kind gets used in the house.

Product arrived as in time frame indicated. Pickup at BestBuy accomplished without fanfare. Set up and initialization a breeze. Immediately loaded software for newly purchased scanning device. Happy with the service from BestBuy and the Apple product.

Great for burning DVDs to send to family that just can’t figure out social media!! Only reason for the 4 star vs 5 star review is I recently purchased the 27in 5k display and although streaming is great it doesn’t beat 4K BluRay Player. Therefore I wish apple made a Blu-ray or 4K version instead of a DVD version.

Slim design can fit anywhere on your desk. Takes up only one usb port. Works as it should Apple quality and craftsmanship

With typical Apple quality this drive works great and is a necessity since none of the iMac’s or Macbook’s come with optical drives. It is a bit misleading to call it a “SuperDrive” when it lacks blue ray compatability. Maybe just “CDDrive” would be more appropriate. But it works well, it’s small and it gets the job done reading and writing cd’s.

Bought for wife’s new MacBook Air with M1 chip. It does the job with a slim design. Have not yet burned a dvd. When my old burner dies I will replace it with this.

It's a typical Apple product, almost trivial to set up and run!I used it right out of the box to load Turbotax. Everything ran smoothly and now I'm ready for tax season.

Other than having to buy an adapter to connect this to my Mac Pro I have had no problems with this. It’s been very easy to use and gives me the ability to use software that comes in disc only.

I did need to update the software on my older model MacBrook Pro and then install is sleek and lightweight CD and DVD reader and wrighter to my Apple. So far, so good. Best Buy has low prices and the salespeople were knowledgeable and helpful.
