When I got my new Apple computer I knew it didn't have a CD drive in it so a month or two later we bought this drive for it! So easy, just had to plug it into a USB port and it was ready to go! Thanks Apple for making things easy!

Bought this for my classroom. So easy to use. Plug, load and play. Seamless integration the my macbookpro. I actually like having it external rather than internal since it makes the macbookpro lighter and smaller. Thanks apple!

There are many different USB CD/DVD drives available from various companies, but Apple's slot loading Superdrive is by far the slimmest and unlike many others, Apple's Superdrive uses only one USB connection. It works great with all recent Macs laptops and desktops as well as many Windows computers, but if your computer is over 5 years old, you may have some issues.

As of this time have had no problems was simple to connect and use. Easy to connect and disconnect when not in use. Currently, have no negative comments to make in regard to the product.

Got this drive to watch movies and load data from older cd's. It functions with zero hassles. The way I like it.

I needed a drive for my new iMac and this fit the bill. Typical great Apple quality and very simple to use. Plugs in to the USB port on the back of the computer.

I just started using the Superdrive that I recently bought to use with my 2020 27" iMac. My previous iMac (21" late 2009 model) had a built-in disc drive that never failed me over the years. When technology advances forced me to replace my old iMac (which no longer include a built-in disc drive, I added the Superdrive so that I could enjoy my collection of many cd's and dvd's. The Superdrive is working as promised, thus far. It's quick and silent, and fits neatly under the base of my monitor. I look forward to many good times looking at movies and listening to cd's. I recommend this product to Apple iMac users.

After trying another brand of external CD/DVD R/W drives and being dissatisfied, I purchase the Apple drive and was 100% satisfied with the performance and appearance of this product. It's a true plug and play and a well made drive.

Since MacBook Pro doesn't have an optical drive this was best choice. As long as you have the USB adapter cable to the new Thunder C port you're good to go. Good when you need it and fine to leave it home when you don't.

apple store was out and sent me to BB for this. works like a charm. Only complaint I have is that I sometimes forget to carry it with me, because I am not used to having it separate; that's Apple's fault. LOL

I wanted an alternate music system and still had hundreds of CD’s I enjoyed. The Apple Super external drive allowed me to import my entire CD collection into my library very quickly with ease of use.

I'll admit, I don't use this too terribly often, but it's a nice little accessory to have. That way, you don't have to rely on using a large TV. Love the portability of this, only downside is is that it doesn't work with Blu-Ray.

Unfortunately, since the MacBook I have does not have a slot drive, this was a must buy, as I have some disc-based programs I needed to install. I could've saved the $80, but I understand the cost savings it could be excluding the slot drive from MacBooks. It was a plug and play setup. I did have to buy an adapter for the USB-C to USB connection.

Even though Apple took the drive off their MacBooks, this is still a great drive for me to carry around when I need to play a CD which is too many times needed.

It's nice that these exist for those who can't let go of CDs. I like that I don't have to tote it around, as I primarily do my CD burning at home. But it's so portable and compact that if I needed to take it with me, it wouldn't be a nuisance.

Being that the new MacBooks do not come with dvd drives I wasn’t sure if I would be okay with an external plus in. It’s a great little plug and play and not at all inconvenient

Needed the drive for a work related DVD that I received. Bought it, removed from the box, plugged it in and it worked immediately. No fighting with drivers or software. That's what's great about Apple stuff. Always works.

This slim DVD/CD RW drive works as expected. It is about 1/4 the size of the one it replaced. I have many photos saved to disc and this drive keeps them alive!
