This is a great drive. Many pros, such as being durable, clean, easy access without scratching discs, etc. Easy to use and understand; plug and play. I have not used it for anything other than playing discs; however, I am sure it will work as advertised.

The drive was very easy to use. It displayed the content of the CDs, so I knew what to keep and what to toss.

I wanted an alternate music system and still had hundreds of CD’s I enjoyed. The Apple Super external drive allowed me to import my entire CD collection into my library very quickly with ease of use.

After getting my new Mac Book Pro, I had to purchase a separate drive. I read the reviews and they weren't rated as high as I like to see but so far, this drive has not been any problem. Very pleased with the purchase!

I was looking to add an external drive to my new Mac Book Pro laptop and decided to add this apple product. It delivered exactly as advertised. Took it out of the box, plugged it into my laptop and the drive was recognized immediately.

Although I am truly disappointed that the IMac doesn't have a cd/dvd drive on the computer itself, I am extremely impressed with this. It's small, easy to use and doesn't get in the way of anything. This is a must if you get an iMac guys!!!

apple store was out and sent me to BB for this. works like a charm. Only complaint I have is that I sometimes forget to carry it with me, because I am not used to having it separate; that's Apple's fault. LOL

I recently purchased my first Mac and was disappointed that it didn't have a CD Drive. I admit that I rarely need to use a CD or DVD though, and the SuperDrive is lightweight and compact enough for me to easily store in my desk when not in use.

Bought this for my classroom. So easy to use. Plug, load and play. Seamless integration the my macbookpro. I actually like having it external rather than internal since it makes the macbookpro lighter and smaller. Thanks apple!

When I got my new Apple computer I knew it didn't have a CD drive in it so a month or two later we bought this drive for it! So easy, just had to plug it into a USB port and it was ready to go! Thanks Apple for making things easy!

Easy to use just plug into a usb connection on a computer and its ready to go I used it to upload some cds into iTunes and the speed is really fast I couldn’t believe how fast

Since MacBook Pro doesn't have an optical drive this was best choice. As long as you have the USB adapter cable to the new Thunder C port you're good to go. Good when you need it and fine to leave it home when you don't.

Works great. Easy installation. Fast and quiet. No problems at all.

Even though Apple took the drive off their MacBooks, this is still a great drive for me to carry around when I need to play a CD which is too many times needed.

Very easy way to view older movies that I already own on DVD’s and add music from my CD collection.

There are many different USB CD/DVD drives available from various companies, but Apple's slot loading Superdrive is by far the slimmest and unlike many others, Apple's Superdrive uses only one USB connection. It works great with all recent Macs laptops and desktops as well as many Windows computers, but if your computer is over 5 years old, you may have some issues.

Got this drive to watch movies and load data from older cd's. It functions with zero hassles. The way I like it.

After trying another brand of external CD/DVD R/W drives and being dissatisfied, I purchase the Apple drive and was 100% satisfied with the performance and appearance of this product. It's a true plug and play and a well made drive.

Unfortunately, since the MacBook I have does not have a slot drive, this was a must buy, as I have some disc-based programs I needed to install. I could've saved the $80, but I understand the cost savings it could be excluding the slot drive from MacBooks. It was a plug and play setup. I did have to buy an adapter for the USB-C to USB connection.

This is an accessory I do not step out without. There are many instances when people have info on CD or need you to write it on media. This is a life saver. Its works quietly and is real fast.
