Got this for my daughter who was leaving for college and has a Mac Air. I knew she would want to watch some of her DVD's so I purchased this drive for her. She has enjoyed having it so she can watch DVD's since her WiFi isn't the greatest.

It's just like the built-in super drive I've had in all my prior macbooks. While I have no empirical data, it seems to be as fast and responsive as a built-in. That is to say, I didn't notice any significant slow down running over USB.

There's no eject button. When I got a disk stuck in there I had to use a paper clip to hold my forms together instead of my regular double-sided tape with the polka-dots. Apple usually makes good quality stuff so go for it.

I have a lot of Cds an d Dvd's so will have a lot of use for this unit So far it has worked flawlessly and the only objection would be that it would have an eject ability built into the product.

I found myself in a jam while on a deadline and needed a CD/DVD drive so I could install new software. It's great to have Apple hardware available locally when I need it. Plugged it in and of course it works perfectly.

The drive was very easy to use. It displayed the content of the CDs, so I knew what to keep and what to toss.

I have no complaints about this hardware. All you have to do is plug it into your computer and your ready to go. I love the fact that Macs are super slim now, but I wish that I didn't have to buy the external CD/DVD player separately.

Great quality and it was a plug and play with the Mac Book Pro.

Since the APPLE computer does not have a tower you have no way to back up important files. I also needed it to download my security for viral protection. Easy to use and very inexpensive in price to complement my APPLE computer.

I would repurchase this product again, I'm annoyed that I have to carry it. But, I'm glad that is not built in. The light versatility of the laptop is great, I've only used it twice.

The Apple USB Super Drive is a perfect match to my new Apple system. It has less moving parts than most DVD writers and is much easier to use. The Super Drive does it all for you.....

Computers dont come with CDROMs anymore! No worries, now that I have this product. Reads and writes both CDs and DVDs quitely and very fast. Plug into USB port and use right away with nothing to configure or download.

I love my MacBook Air but I hated not having access to a disk drive. I was very excited to bring this home and finally unload many items to my computer. Easy to use, performs good. I have no complaints!

Works like any other DVD/CD reader/burner. I had to get an Apple USB cable though to connect it to the USB C port. The drive didn’t work with a Hyperdrive 9 port USB-C Hub.

Use this drive all the time with my Mac computer. I like the fact that I can use the Qapple keyboard to eject CDs. Works great with Apple.

CD/DVD drive easy connection extra money for something that should be included

My laptop (macbook pro 15inch display) does not come with a disk (cd,dvd drive) so I purchased the apple superdrive. It is so easy to use and it makes it easy to transfer my music cd's onto my computer. I highly recommend this product.

I thought that I could do without a disk drive but I soon found out that I needed it to reinstall drivers for my old accessaries. I later realized that I needed it to listen to my CD's and to create new CD's.

The Cd-Rw drive is easy to use and allows me to use my existing programs on my new MacBook Pro. Highly recommend this product if you are transitioning from another computer.

When purchasing my first mac, I was reluctant to do so in part based on macs not having a dvd/cd drive. This meets the need. I still wish macs made laptops with drives but get that most people do not use cds or dvds anymore.
