This device has been absolutely great. It’s so nice that it is portable so I can use it at work and at home. I burned a DVD for my grandmother’s wake and funeral last week and it turned out perfectly.

The drive is small and compact and built out of aluminum. It does a good job of working as an optical drive for the times when I need an optical drive. If you need a optical drive for your Mac this one works well.

Since my MacBook does not have a disc drive it only made sense that I purchased this. Although I would’ve liked for this to be built into my laptop, it works great and I have no complaints.

The drive plugs in very easily and has a secure connection. There were no problems getting the computer to recognize this peripheral. If you have an Apple laptop you are going to need this peripheral eventually.

Bought external cd/dvd drive for Apple computer to replace a broken drive on one laptop and as an external drive for second laptop. At purchase was helped by Best Buy staff and am happy with the product.

This is a pretty straight forward device. No switches or buttons; just slide a disk in and off you go. At $80 there are less expensive units available, however, none as sleek and portable as this unit. The "Apple" aluminum finish looks awesome as all Apple products do. The unit runs off of USB power connected to your computer, so you need not carry an external power supply around if you are using this as a portable. Just slide it into your laptop case and off you go. Less wire, less mess. The only downside I can think of is it requires higher voltage than is typically supplied through USB ports. Therefore, this unit must be connected directly to your Laptop for proper voltage supply. It will not run on an external USB hub. So, I recommend a USB extension cable Type A male-Type A female to give you extra cable length in case you desire or need to place the Superdrive on the opposite side of your desk. The built in cable is only around 14" long. Aside from these two minor issues, this is a fantastic drive.

I'm a huge fan of apple products. This drive provides the needed service I desired. Its works perfectly find and sync well with apple overall system. No complaints.

This product makes importing optically stored files accessible on the MacBook Pro since it has no built in capability. The read/write speeds are sufficiently fast and the plug and play (compatibility) is a real plus.

The drive was very easy to use. It displayed the content of the CDs, so I knew what to keep and what to toss.

Bought this as an add on to be able to burn my family videos that i have created while on trips! Works perfectly with my macbook air!

i bought this for my brother and i think i love it more than him. its super fast..it downloads faster than my macbook pro..i love the drive and i would buy another one and would recommend this product if you have a mac without a drive..

As with all Apple products this too is truly plug and play. I purchased for use with my MacBook Air. The Air has no optical drive and this is the only option to add one I know of. Plugged it in and it worked as I expected.

My daughter needed a disk drive for her Apple laptop, and this was a great buy. She says it works great.

The Apple Super drive 8x is super User Friendly! Plug in to your MAC Book, put in a CD or DVD and it loads and is ready to play. This is my second one and I love it, would buy again.

Always happy with any Apple product that I purchase and this DVD drive didn't disappoint. It works great on all of my Apple devices and is very easy to use.

The DVD drive is compact and small but it needs an eject button on it. I would have preferred it to be part of the actual Mac desk top. It should have been part of the package. I was told that it was when I purchased the Mac.

Fast easy setup. Box was in wrong slot so rang up higher than self tag, but manager compensated with a gift card. Very satisfied

Being an Apple fan I decided to go with this when I needed an external drive. It's a plug and play device and works well with my MacBook Air. Non Apple devices may work as well at lower cost, but so far this has worked well.
