Plugged it in and it was ready to go. I would have given it 5 stars except it is somewhat pricey. There are less costly non-Apple disc drives available. Due to concerns with compatibility, I payed a little more for this Apple drive.

The epitome of plug and play. Apple gets it. And, that's why my next computer purchase will be from them.

There’s no substitute

The only thing I also agree with those who have expressed concern regarding the lack of a good old fashioned disk ejection mechanism.

Easy to use

It's a plug and play device and works well with my MacBook Air. Non Apple devices may work as well at lower cost, but so far this has worked well.

Perfect accessory

All you do is plug it into the USB drive on the back of the computer and it instantly works.

Apple Combination DVD/CD write/read external drive

The drive is durable and powered by the USB connection. I have personally used the drive with current iMacs, MacPros and MacBook Pro laptops. (It likely will be the last DVD drive that Apple offers for sale).

Great Cd/DVD Player for my Apple Computer
