If you own an IMac, then this is the external drive that you want. BB salesman sent us home with LG equivalent, but it would not work with the IMac. Plug and play from there, and you will not believe the speed of this thing!

I received a MacBook Air for Christmas, and wanted to be able to play CD's on my new laptop, since this was not included on the Mac. Checked around, and this is the best CD player to go with the new MacBook Air.

Love this external CD drive for my macbook air! Have had it a couple of months and use it almost daily! Fast and quiet and have not experienced any problems yet.

The internal drive on my older iMac stopped working, and there is no space for an internal drive on the new and much thinner iMacs, so this external drive is now working great on both!

I recently bought a new MacBook Pro at Best Buy but it does not come with a DVD burner. I bought the Apple USB SuperDrive and it works great so far. I plugged it in and didn't have to do anything else Great unit.

This Apple external drive is a must for MacAir users. There are some things not available by download and this solves that issue. It is light, easy for travel and use, and most of all it's a life saver.

This device works great and since many of my clients are STILL bringing me old DVDs to rip the content from, it definitely comes in useful. However, I really wish it could do Blu Ray as well. Doesn't make sense in this day and age that apple doesn't have that option. Anyway, this device looks good and works as advertised!

I tried another brand for disc burning with my Mac. This one works so much better. It has never failed me and I do a lot of burning. Small and compact, it fits in nicely with the limited real estate on my work desk.

This device is exactly what I needed for my Mac. A bit pricy but it does everything required. You can not go wrong with an Apple product. I also have an LG drive I use for Bluray and it is both Mac and PC compatible.

I bought this because my MacBook Air did not have a place to put CDs in, so I bought this. It only works for Apple devices with USB ports, though. No problems otherwise.

I'm happy with the Apple product. It is user friendly and easy to plug into my MacBook. Very satisfied and highly recommend this product if a user needs an external drive.

As I indicated above I do think there should be an eject button on it, but I have had no problem whatsoever with ejecting it from the MacBook. It seems to work great no issues at all whatsoever and it's exactly what I needed!

I read the reviews and many of them said it didn't work with the new MacBooks, so I was tilted about buying it... I decided to give it a try and go to buy it, but I took my MacBook Pro 15" 2018 with me to the store, a CD and a DVD movie to test the Super Drive there immediately after purchasing it ( and save the inconvenience of having to go back to return it to the store if I had issues). The Apple rep at Best Buy plug the drive in, answer the few questions for the setup (European DVD format is different to US and the SuperDrive is a global product), we put the DVD into the drive and my Mac immediately recognized the device and went through the motions to play the movie.

I love my Mac. I love the DVD player that now goes with it. I thought it would be weird having it "separate" from the laptop, but I actually kind of like it that way.

Easy to set up and use. Would be great if it had a longer cord.

The SuperDrive is really a required component. I can not fathom not being able to listen to music CDs or watch video DVDs on an new piece of technology. It definitely does the job. Light and sturdy. I definitely recommend it.

My MacBook Pro does not have a disk drive so I bought this to use. As an external disk drive it works just as fast as any disc drive I’ve ever used. Quality Burns and does not heat. I recommend

I bought this for my macbook air. I don't use a lot of cd's or dvd's so this is a great choice because I can use it on the few times I want to or need to download something. It's small light and easy to use. Just plug an play.
