I bought this a few years ago when Apple got rid of the disk drive. It worked great for me! I have no need for it anymore but it still works and if you use it, I would recommend it.

I needed an easy to use DVD add-on for my iMac and this turned out to be just the right unit. It was Plug-n-Play with no connection issues. It could have a slightly longer interface cable but it works for most applications.

I debated on purchasing this Apple optical drive versus other brand names. all of the reviews said there were no problems encountered witht the Apple drive on my new MacBook Pro. They were right!

Great to use I love mine to read my cds to my laptop

As my apple did not have a cd rom player built in I needed a cd rom disk reader for numerous appn loading, music, etc. This is very slim and takes no space on my desk. Very well constructed

I read lots of reviews on all of the options available for IMacs & decided on this one. This computer is wonderful-- very fast & lots of storage. The extra cost for the fusion drive is definitely worth it!

This is just what i needed to install all my old files into my new iMAC. It did not come with a disk drive. It also plays my CD's and DVD's. Nothing to load for it to work. Just plug into USB and it starts working.

Allowed me to add security software and a few packages I wanted to back up my work. It had to be simple as I am a beginner with Apple products so I had to tutor myself based on what I knew about Windows software.

The idea of this unit is phenomenal; however, with my MacBook Air 2020 model not having any optical drives and only two thunder ports and the reality of discs becoming obsolete, you will spring for this unit but never use it. Unfortunately its price point is pretty high for a component that will just accumulate dust. It's Apple made, so it'll make sense for you to buy, just because. Used it to test it out when I first purchased and haven't used it since. I guess I'm ready though if out of nostalgia someone needs me to burn them a mixed CD....

I know it seems like a no brainer that you should buy a product and it does what it should, and I've come to expect that from Apple products, but this little disc player is easy to use, compact, and durable - It's great!

Apple external disc drive so you can make musical cd’s. I wish Mac still put these drives in their computers.

Well like the title suggests this product works as advertised. I have had mine going on 5 months, since the MackBook pro I purchased for this last semester didn't come with a disc drive I purchased the apple SuperDrive. I haven't had any issues with it expcept I would have liked to see Apple support blue ray which this product does not.

I honestly like this product. I think it's a good idea to not supply it on the computer anymore because it takes up space and people really don't use them anymore. I enjoy this product and carry it everywhere

Just bought my first Mac, a mini, and needed an optical drive. Very slim design, looks good, matches the Mini Mac perfectly, works well, music collection is being entered as I write this.

Wish the MAC book had drive in built, but since it was not available had to get this drive, its so sleek, easy to setup and the drive reads the DVD at amazing speed !!!

The player works well. The only thing is that the usb attachment is a little weak. I would be careful. Like with all apple cords, they may not take the test of time. The product works well none the less.

When I was looking at Mac books I wanted everything I had on my PC. There is no built in dvd player on this particular model but this is the one I wanted. So this added the that function and is compact and easy to use

This product is so easy to use. I was worried it was going to be too much trouble to carry this with me and hook it up etc. Literally plug and play!!! Awesomeness is the only word

necessary with new Mac Books to read or burn data to a. CD. Not sure how long it will last but it is working fine with limited use

It has served its purpose and is light weight. Not had any issues connecting to MacBook and so far all disks we own seem to be compatible without any issues in burning pictures or transferring docs onto.
