Good looking slim cd drive, easy to use and matches the Imac

this drive is great. nice size and able to burn cds and dvds. uses usb cord so its easy to connect

We bought this drive when we bought our new iMac. One of the main reasons was that it matched the color and finish of the iMac. That may sound superficial but since the iMac no longer has a built in optical drive I wanted something that looked liked it matched when it sat on my desk. Setup was super simple, just plug and play. There were no drivers to install or any setup required. It just works and is very quiet.

I just picked this up for my new MacBook 14”. My 2012 MacBook was one of the last with an optical drive- which I always thought I just had to have. This works great and is out of the way until I need it- which is only once every month or so. I’m not really missing an optical drive in this new MacBook. I did a test run and it’s as fast as the internal that still runs. I got it open box which was an even better deal. My only wish is that it was USB-C. I’m not a fan of adapters, but it seems to function fine with it.

I purchased this SuperDrive when I bought my first MacBook computer a couple weeks ago. I like to back up albums that I buy on iTunes onto CDs. This SuperDrive worked great. All I did was plug it in to the MacBook Pro. Very easy and practical to use. Would definitely recommend it if you're like me and still like the ability to copy purchased music onto CDs or import old CDs to my iTunes library.

The size and portability of the product are great. Handles all CD/DVD tasks that I need it for. Would have given it 5 stars but the cord length could have been longer.

My Macbook Air is an astounding machine but it doesn't come with a CD/DVD drive. This wafer-thin drive is the epitome of plug-and-play. I can play DVD's locally now and can burn DVD's and CD's remarkably fast. Drives like this one separate the Mac devices from the PC devices! And it supports double-media DVD's.

Was shocked to find out my Mac didn't have a cd drive so to do my taxes had to run out quick and get any external drive and was pleased to see Best Buy had one in stock. Went home with it and had it up and running in a few minutes after opening the box. Works great. Really small and not in the way on my desk. Looks good too.

my iMac had a cd stuck inside so i tried everything to get it out finally geek squad handled biz and took it out but i already made a move on a new mac and i needed this for cds so its a big help especially if a cd gets stuck all i have to do is bring this small product down without bringing the whole system down is so necessary!!!!!!!!!

After recently buying a MacBook Air, I was in need of an external disc drive so I could watch DVDs, import CDs to iTunes and burn CDs. The old one I had for my old desktop didn't work the way I needed it to, so I invested in the Apple SuperDrive. It works like a charm! It reads the DVDs and CDs I load into it, and it's lightweight and easy to transport when I travel. Definitely worth the investment!

The USB SuperDrive is a nice compact size and gets the job done quickly. It is sleek in design.

Good CD/DVD reader for a Mac. Easy to install - just plug into a USB port, no external power, it gets power from the USB port. Can read and play from any CD/DVD and can also burn CD's. Just push the disk into the slot most of the way and the unit will grab it and pull it the rest of the way into the drive and start. Eject the disk from a finder window. (no eject button on the unit, must be plugged into a computer and ejected from the computer software)

As you may or may not know, the MAC desktops do not come with a CD-drive, which I thought was ok. But time came to get one so I could burn DVDs and so I bought this and it works great. Easily plugs into the USB. Plug and play kind of thing. Works with everything. Not sure if it plays blue ray yet. But over all was a great addition to the desktop family.

Works fast and quiet. Just what I expected! It's thin light and very compact.

The device is compact and matches my 13" retina MacBook Pro. It works great. It is way faster than the built-in one in my old 2007 15" PowerBook. It is an occasional use item, thankfully, because it needs to be plugged directly into a Mac to work. It will not work with a USB hub. The cable is short but that is actually good since you have to plug it directly into a Mac USB port. I simply leave it on my desk shelf and when I need it (rarely) I plug it in. If you need to rip CDs into iTunes or load older software off a CD, or in my case have a lot of audio (drums, etc.) sample CDs, this is the one to get.

OCDers that need to match the silver of their MacBooks or Minis will like this. Not the fastest, cheapest, nor has Blu-Ray capabilities, but if all you need is reading and writing CDs, SL & DL DVDs (does anyone store anything on disc anymore), then this is a sure bet. Sure you can get an Asus or LG for about half the price but they aren't as sleek and unobtrusive...and won't match colors! ;)
