When I bought my Mac I was pretty bummed to see that it did not include a DVD drive. It was a bummer to have to spend more money to get one but it is very easy to use and no issues at all.

Since iMac doesn't have a disc drive, this is a definite must have. Very easy to operate and didn't have to install any kind of program being that it is an Apple product. No hassle equals no headache!

Total plug and play. Some reviewers had trouble ejecting a disc. It was straightforward and not an issue at all. Best Buy's price and free shipping was less expensive than the Apple store

I needed another external drive because my computer drive stopped working. It's easy to just plug into an Apple computer and easy installation!

This drive works great, but I had to pull out the help book in order to figure out how to set it up. At first when I plugged it in I couldn't get it to show up on the computer. You have to go into a specific drive in order to see it and then in order to eject the disk you also have to find the eject button on the computer rather than the drive having an easy button. I also thought at first it didn't have power because you have to force the disk in almost all the way before the power kicks on and pulls the disk in the rest of the way.

My older laptops had internal drives. Having this external is no issue as I get most of my content online. The thickness saved is worth the extra couple of steps to hook up and play a CD/DVD

This is a great drive. I use it all the time to burn training movies, power points and documents. I have yet to have a problem with it. Smooth working and very user friendly. Mac makes everything plug and play!

Awesome product for when you still need to use some DVD or CDs... Unit is slim and sleek and runs off of USBpower so no need for a power supply.

Good solution for bad superdrive. The iMac desktop native built-in Optiarc DVD player stopped recognizing DVDs and CDs.. This external drive was a quicker (but not cheaper) fix than a trip to the Apple Store to R&R the Superdrive. Main problem is that the USB cable takes up another USB port! So I have to alternate swapping the external hard drive for other peripherals, such as a usb-charger, an external usb-hard drive, a time machine, a usb-flash drive, usb-audio output, usb-midi adapter, usb-card reader, etc.. I am told there is software for watching Blu Ray DVDs on an iMac..??

Needed this bc the Apple laptops don’t have cd slots. Worked very good and easily.

Purchased this item along with my iMac & Macbook Air, had to have it. Think I've used only once. Extremely easy to set-up & matches with all my mac products.

Bought this Superdrive for my MacBook Pro (2016) model. Had a lot of CDS that I wanted to transfer to my hard drive. Great if you want to burn to disks as well. Works very well and connects as soon you plug it in. You will need an usb-c adapter in order to use it with the new MacBook Pro models.

Works great with my iMac. It confused me because it doesn't show up in finder or on the desktop until you put a cd in it. Spent a lot of time trying to find it but it doesn't appear until something is in it. Other than that it works as expected.

The Apple external hard drive was purchase because the MacBook Air did not have a r/w disc drive. But in todays world who uses disc? So now I can save and back up my MacBook on the external hard drive.

Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Silver is great product it has allowed me to put software and watch movie on my apple computer.

It works great for me. I have seen a lot of bad reviews about this Superdrive, that's because you must use USBC-to USB cord to make the Superdrive work probably.

The silver design is nice but the cord should be longer.

The new laptops do not include at disk drive so the superdrive is a necessity for me. I am a photographer and have thousands of photos on DVDs that I am constantly going back to and retrieving old images.

SuperDrive works great with my 2015 MacBook Pro. Just wish there was a SuperDrive with Blu-Ray comparability, but I'm not holding my breath.
