This is a high end drive. I don’t use it every day. But when I need it I need it and it’s been a work horse so far.

A Christmas gift for my daughter in college for use with her Mac Pro. She loves it and reports it's just want she wanted. Works just as designed, as do all Apple products we own.

This external drive will allow my daughter to use much of the media she had before purchasing her new computer. She is looking forward to using it at college for school and entertainment.

I purchased a MacBookPro and had some software I wanted to put on my computer for which I needed the SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Silver.

I bought this because I prefer CDs in my car than using the auxiliary chord. It burns fast. It reads fast. It requires no installation. Just plug it in on the USB slot and you're good to go.

Assures me that I will always have those important documents secure. One less thing to worry about and feel secure. Easy to use.

DVD/CD player on my MacBook Pro crapped out and I can now play movies that once skipped or froze Works great !

I haven't opened mine yet. But I have used it before and i really like using it. I have a macbook pro so I do not really need a mouse but I have it anyway for the day that i want to use it.

As the administrator of a church your tech needs changes often we got new software and this device helps get our Bible college off the ground.

I would highly recommend this drive over the "bargains" and spend the extra few bucks on the brand name one. I had a "cheaper" one and honestly it sucked. NOT nearly as quick or dependable!

I think Apple is to far ahead of time, we're not complely digital yet, so having to purchase an external optical drive wasn't ideal. It's thin, so it packs and travels well in my laptop bag.

This is my second Apple Super-Drive, as I wanted one for home and one to take with me. It is an excellent prioduct, made and engineered to work with the Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops. This drive costs a little more than some of the other portable drives out there, but it is well built with a solid aluminum case. Since it is engineered to work with Apple products then it is simply a "plug and play" unit with no software or updates needed. I would highly recommend this unit.

This is a great little DVD Drive. Just plug into new iMac and it works. No buttons. Just slide in DVD and it will grab it the rest of the way. My Apple wired keyboard had buttons for the DVD SuperDrive.

We own pretty much all Apple products and when I purchased my iMac I obviously needed to get a drive as well. This one by Apple is great and we would recommend to anyone

I was trying to burn video DVDs of some home movies with an external no-named DVD burner and I kept getting errors when I tried to play the dics. I got so annoyed that that I went to the store and picked up a genuine Apple DVD burner. It was more than I wanted to spend but it flawlessly burned my home movies and the discs played on all my DVD players (stand alone, xBox, compact portable). Sometimes it just pays to pay the extra for the Apple logo!

My 15 inch MacBook Pro with retina display didn't come with an internal cd/dvd. Therefore what other better product then Apples very own external drive. Very easy to use. Just plug and play.

We needed a drive for our daughter to download info for college. This product was perfect and she can use it for other downloads as well!

Works great with our iMac and Macbook! I thought it would work with our other laptop, which has Windows, but it doesn't. From what I understand you can download a program onto your windows laptop/pc which will allow you to use this drive on it, but I've yet to search for and download that program.

I would highly recommend the Apple SuperDrive 8X External USB DVD/CD/RW drive. This gives you an additional drive for downloading or backing up on your Apple computer.
