This is my second Apple Super-Drive, as I wanted one for home and one to take with me. It is an excellent prioduct, made and engineered to work with the Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops. This drive costs a little more than some of the other portable drives out there, but it is well built with a solid aluminum case. Since it is engineered to work with Apple products then it is simply a "plug and play" unit with no software or updates needed. I would highly recommend this unit.

Needed this bc the Apple laptops don’t have cd slots. Worked very good and easily.

I haven't had the need to use the drive extensively. Installing it was super simple. I did copy some files and pictures to a dvd. Worked well. That's about all I can say at this time.

I recently bought the Macbook Air, which does not have a dvd player, so I bought an external one. It's definitely nicer to have a player in the computer already, instead of having to connect one with a usb cord. The player does the job and it is not difficult to use. I definitely recommend it for the Macbook Air.

Very easy to use. No hiccups. Apple makes a great product. Disappointed it was not made in tge U.S. Even with solid state drives would have preferred to have a built in DVD/CD player

This was purchased along with a new iMac. Not sure how much use it will get, but it is handy to have. If you have lots of USB peripherals, you can keep it in a drawer until you need it, although it might not recognize that a disc was inserted unless it is connected directly to the computer, not through a hub.

As the administrator of a church your tech needs changes often we got new software and this device helps get our Bible college off the ground.

This was kind of an impulse buy. I didn't do any research on it before I bought it, but I am very happy with it. I haven't tried DVDs on it yet, but CDs work great with it!

I would highly recommend the Apple SuperDrive 8X External USB DVD/CD/RW drive. This gives you an additional drive for downloading or backing up on your Apple computer.

This Apple Drive is slick. Easy to connect, and easy to use. Perfect for my new iMac 27" unit.

I bought this so I could transfer from my windows pc to a macbook pro. I works great and is fast and reliable. I wouldn't recommend any other product

This external hard drive is a must for users who don't have a cd drive with their current MacBook. It's portable, lightweight and comes in handy when you need to use the cd rom.

Love it, now I can see pictures from old dvd, even I can down loud conferences and much more, love it.....

Great gift for wife and new iMac computer. Was concerned with the new iMac not having built in DVD drive, but the super drive solved the concern. Excellent addition and does not take up any space.

Assures me that I will always have those important documents secure. One less thing to worry about and feel secure. Easy to use.

I have dvd and music and I purchased the Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive at your location and I love the item.

It is an external drive and does exactly what it is supposed to do, without the need of additional software. There are cheaper third party options, but this thing is tiny and looks good.

I purchased this drive for an apple laptop that doesn't have an internal disk drive. It was simple to plug and play and I caught it on sell….So great purchase. I have only used it to download a cd rom, although it has the capability to do more.
