This was purchased along with a new iMac. Not sure how much use it will get, but it is handy to have. If you have lots of USB peripherals, you can keep it in a drawer until you need it, although it might not recognize that a disc was inserted unless it is connected directly to the computer, not through a hub.

I recently bought the Macbook Air, which does not have a dvd player, so I bought an external one. It's definitely nicer to have a player in the computer already, instead of having to connect one with a usb cord. The player does the job and it is not difficult to use. I definitely recommend it for the Macbook Air.

Love it, now I can see pictures from old dvd, even I can down loud conferences and much more, love it.....

Purchased a different eternal DVD drive and had difficulties. The Apple drive was easy to install (matched to a MacPro) and has worked as expected since its installation.

The new dell laptop didn't come with a dvd build in, so I bought this. Works great would buy it again.

I bought this so I could transfer from my windows pc to a macbook pro. I works great and is fast and reliable. I wouldn't recommend any other product

A little bit on he expensive side, but then its very much compatible with apple products and its double layer, which is something I really needed.

I hooked up this to my Mac computer with ease. A few extra slots for my speakers and to charge my wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. I love it.

Great gift for wife and new iMac computer. Was concerned with the new iMac not having built in DVD drive, but the super drive solved the concern. Excellent addition and does not take up any space.

The new macs don't come with cd drives, so you need an external. This one is made by apple and well worth the extra couple of dollars for the original.

I still have a lot of CD that I need to use with my computer. The new computers do not offer a CD/DVD drive. Therefore, this product provided me with the needed connection!

As is typical with Apple setups; very easy. True plug in and play. iMac loaded it up immediately and I was using it 1 minute later downloading a CD.

This super drive makes backing up your pictures and files easy. Great to have for cd's and computer games since the new Mac desk top doesn't have a disc drive built in anymore.

It is an external drive and does exactly what it is supposed to do, without the need of additional software. There are cheaper third party options, but this thing is tiny and looks good.

Very Sleek and sturdy. Works out the box as expected. Perfect for trips or flights when you need to play a DVD. Also great from CD/DVD rips/transfers for archiving.

This drive is easy to use. Plug and play. Removing the drive from a laptop makes the laptop much lighter, but sometimes I want to use the drive. I just plug and play!

I bought this at the same time I was purchasing an iMac. I own hundreds of Music Cd's and now I have a way to load my favorite albums into my itunes account. Very easy to hook up and use.
