be diligent, worth the effort

Used it to display from our new iMac 27 to our 70" Sony 4k. It was a replacement for our 3 yr old Appletv that had pixelating problems, presumably caused by intermittent power outages. New Apple tv would not display picture. After much consultation we had to change setting to 1080 because previous appletv was a 1080 and geek squad set the tv up that way. Love the new remote and finally works great.

So I was absolutely a holdout and a doubter... but what convinced me to get one was being able to have some streaming apps that my Smart TV didn't support. Glad I finally did it so that I can do more.

Better than built in

Works just like the last two generations. Definitely worth upgrading if you have the HD. If you have the 4K you can hold off.

I had the one previous to this one and it was okay but the new one is more user friendly and easier to use the button placement is easy to close out apps use Siri and be able to turn on and off the tv. Plus the colors are vivid and bright and I am able to use my phone with my tv easier with out any hurdles

Makes a older hdtv Smart

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not really a fan myself but this is a great gift for someone who is not tech savvy but wants to watch apps on a non Smart TV, or a TV that has out dated apps. In my case I ordered this for my father in law. He already has a iPad and an iPhone so the set up is a snap. Once I connected a HDMI cord and pluged in the power I just held the iPhone next to the AppleTV device and the WiFi and account data transfered. I still had to set up his individual apps, (Netflix and Fox Nation)
