There is a handshake issue with Sony tvs. Dobly atmos banner shows up constantly on the tv saying audio not supported . Its a bother because the banner is bright and very distracting at night. My sound bar does support dobly audio. This is an issue as ive done some research and multiple oulets report this issue. I also have the shield and this issue does not happen. Upscale is another issue . 1080p content looks terrible vs the shield . SHIELD UP sclaes VERY WELL. Ive found the hdr and Dobly vision to be brighert on the sheild and fire tv . Unfortunately thier is no Dobly vision on Peacock or Amazon Prime apps in the apple tv Streamer . Both Shield and Fire Tv do not have that issue in the apps. Bottom line for the Price Fire tv and the Cube offer more . The Nividia shield is more Expensive but impressive Codex of SOUND AND UPSCALE is supperior from the rest . What apple does have is no advertisements and a simple operating system.

I’ve tried the Roku I’ve tried the fire so I figured why not try apple. It might just be me but I like the apple a lot better. It’s a good investment. I will get more.

There is a newer Apple TV, but it doesn’t add much and only seems necessary if you have a newer Samsung TV that supports HDR10+ but not Dolby Vision.

The gold standard streaming device in my humble opinion. I am a Apple consumer so this fits like a glove in home theater system. Best place to buy why BestBuy of course.

I hesitated for months on upgrading from the previous 4K model. I found this one to be a worthy upgrade. The remote is great... much better than the old one. And I can now stream YouTube TV 4K.

Point blank if you have the previous model then please dont upgrade the remote is better but not worth $60 and this device is not worth $180 plus tax unless you are in the ecosystem then as all apple products seems worth the money but if you dont have one at all there are way cheaper option to go with because basically they all do the same thing

Bought to use as a connection to my MacBook using airplay. Works instantly connecting to my MacBook with no lag in-between. Works great and I now use it to run all my streaming apps.

Nice improvement on the remote. Made using it much easier.

I new to Apple TV and I can honestly say that I will never go back to Roku. I super happy with my purchase and I love the integration with all my Apple devices.

This is a good unit for day to day streaming. The one thing that Apple refuses to do for some reason is include HD audio bitstreaming as does the nvidia shield. They both have their pluses but if I wasn’t already steeped in the Apple environment, I would stay with the shield. As such, I have both as I can use my iPhone and iPad as remotes for the Apple TV. It’s video quality is quite good and it doesn’t run Android.

Excellent product. Improved touchscreen with buttons. It is taking the family a while to learn the new methods. Can download lots of apps from the store.

It’s snappy and great looking. Wifi works better than previous model. The new remote takes a little getting used to from the old one. It’s compatible with my cable provider so I use it as a cable box too

I use mine for watching local TV via vendor app. My unit is located behind a wall in another room and the remote still works. Audio out is via optical link to my HiFi system. it all works

Best Buy is easy to shop for needed electronics and other needed items. The sales people are knowledgeable and the Geek Squad is always able to install and advise with the correct info.

I purchased this AppleTV since I have a 4K TV at home. The setup was faster than any set up of an AppleTV I have ever had. It has been working great and I am pleased with the results.

We have cut the cord to cable and needed an alternate solution. The Apple TV is perfect. I can download all the apps needed to replace cable. And I can AirDrop easily from my phone. I HIGHLY recommend.

Compact design but bigger than some other manufacturers. Controller is improved from last generation but not perfect. Still small and center button overly sensitive. Nice that they added a power button. I found interesting that previous HDMI cord that worked on gen 1 does not work with gen 2, So will need a 4k HDMI cord. Overall clean menu and setup was fairly fast.
