One main reason for upgrade.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from previous generation 4K Apple TV and for you nerds out there , main reason you would want to upgrade is for the ‘threading’ capabilities which gives you more options on setting up your smart home devices with HomeKit and the remote. If you use a lot of HomeKit devices like cameras doorbell etc…. Good buy. If you do none of those things you can just buy new remote for the Apple TV.

New Remote Makes a Big Difference

This is definitely an improvement on that model, mostly because of MUCH better remote. The placement of the buttons, the weightiness of its feel and the vastly superior directional touch pad are all contributors to a better user experience. This is a better version of an already fantastic product.

Never going back to Amazon

No lag and intuitive remote. Never going back to another streaming device. Supports Dolby Atmos which is great. The remote can be slightly annoying at first but it’s not bad once you get used to it. The touch portion works just like the iPhone. You can double click on the screen button to swipe up and close all the apps that are open.

It is not as sensitive. I bought this for my mom for her birthday and she has no idea what to do with it. However, she enjoys the thought that she could potentially enjoy movies and shows! I also got it on sale and that was a big factor!

Love the new remote

The device works as expected. I really like the remote that comes with this new version. It’s much heavier and It can be found easily. The previous version is all black. My living room set is dark, so sometimes I had trouble finding it. Works super with my 4K tv and sound system.
