The older remote control was made of material that cracked and chipped away easily. This unit seems much more robust.

If you are an Apple fan, it works with all devices. You can add all your subscriptions and it works a lot like your phone for closing apps.

The new remote control is fantastic and easier to use than the older generation. I like the fact does have a voice control future. Game changer!

This thing has it all, and it’s rocket fast. Everything on your phone is seamlessly transferred to the tv in seconds

Howerver I find that I have bettet view sharing screen from my ipad to my roku tv than to my apple tv. Also not possibe to navigate to some web pages and my 4k firestick can do it. It is good but it is too late for returning it. I am not sure if it worths the price. The you tube search bar is very bad I like the remote though

Honestly, the actual Apple TV was already fine the way it was. It's just the remote that needed a change.

For the casual user, there is not much difference between the two; however, the new remote is an upgrade.

Best Apple TV Yet

It’s very snappy and responsive. The new remote is awesome. It integrates very well with the Apple ecosystem and that’s all you could ask for in another apple product.

Even though this is a great unit, you can still buy the remote control separately. But they should have even better performance of the previous version.
