Let me start by saying that my household has many apple products. We have an Apple Watch, too iPhone 13 Pro Max, and a MacBook M1 air. I figured the Apple TV would work great in this ecosystem. Unfortunately I found the system to be lacking. The pros of the system are that the picture quality is fantastic And the menu is snappy (quick). I love the screen saver feature. The app support is horrendous though. It’s not that there aren’t apps but that they are horribly made. Apple is also shoving its TV service down your throat. After using a Chromecast for the last eight years, I was really hoping that I could just cast from the apps. Although it is technically possible, it works like crap. For example, you still have to choose the app with the remote and then you can cast inside the app. If you’re someone who likes remotes then the system is great for you, I just find them unnecessary in 2022. Now iOS has a built-in remote for the Apple TV, but it’s still more annoying to use than just being able to cast from the apps. And you can put multiple accounts on the Apple TV, but every time you want to switch accounts you have to go into settings. The system also gets really weird if you have more than one person casting videos. For example, me and my Fiancé will often share videos on the TV with each other, where I would play one and then she would play one. This doesn’t work very well with an Apple TV. It also randomly blacks out and will start playing videos at a random volume. When I want to use AirPlay to play something, It will often start playing the video, go to black, and then play whatever was playing previously. It’s obnoxious. For a premium streaming device, this is a pretty poor experience in my opinion. Again, if you’re somebody who wants a remote and just plays Netflix or buys movies from iTunes, you’ll have a good experience. The overall build is very high-quality and feels solid in the hands. This device just doesn’t work for me. It’s definitely a better user experience than a cheapo Chromecast or cheapo fire stick, but it’s still pretty crappy in my opinion.This experience pushed me to finally pay up and just buy the Nvidia shield and be done with trying streaming devices.

Wanted to update my apple tv. I like that this remote is more durable and has a mute button.

One remote. I love the ease of use. Setup was simple. Setup from iPhone or self install.

Love the new Apple TV's every room has one much better than all other set top boxes.
