Great but not sure its worth upgrading from Gen1

Keep in mind, as of this writing, the newer silver remote is not compatible with most games playable on apple TV. Not sure if this 2nd gen 4k version is that much better than the 1 gen. If you looking for the remote upgrade, finding this on sale might make sense rather than spending $50 on just buying the 2nd gen remote.

Best choice for Apple Users

The Apple and Roku have IR Sensors for use with 3rd Party Control systems. The Fire does not. For Apple folks, Macs and Mobile, the Apple TV makes more sense for features like Screen Mirroring, Apple TV Control App for iPhones & iPads etc. It's more expensive than the Fire-TV or Roku Ultra but still worth the price.

Home Theater Level Up

This is the first Apple TV that I have owned, but before this I owned an Nvidia Shield (tube version). I personally prefer the Apple TV more. It does a much better job of playing 4K HDR content in my experience, and I like the UI a lot more. Really my only complaints are that I wish the remote battery lasted longer and I wish I could delete the default Apple apps that I don't use. Other than that, this product is amazing.
