Probably the best streaming device out there
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I also have a Roku Ultra 4K and a Fire TV Cube. The Apple TV is the one I end up using the most. here is why: - Apple TV has the best interface (easiest to change sound, closed captions, etc.) and it is the fastest where Roku comes in second and Fire TV Cube the slowest. - Most of the apps I use (PS VUE, YouTube, ESPN+, Hulu, Netflix) are better designed for Apple TV. They just work better. - Remote control: rechargeable, long lasting between charges - Wired connection through a gigabit Ethernet port. That allows you to reach really fast speeds when wire connected. Roku and Fire TV use a 10/100Mbps, which means will be topped at 100Mbps. 100Mbps is more than enough for streaming content today, but I see the apple TV to be future proof with faster connection. Where it could improve? (hence the 4 stars). - Remote control: Very sensitive and difficult to use to FF or rewind. slips easy from hand. - Doesn't have google movies. - Content on apple TV is expensive. - Apple TV is the most expensive. At the end I use my Fire Cube TV for Amazon prime content, and the Roku for Google Movies or to rent with Fandango. But around 70% of the time I am on the Apple TV. Really great device after all.

A New World of Apple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Started out wanting Apple TV to show family photos from our big screen TV. Did not realize all the apps and programing possibilities now and for the future exist. The picture quality of 4K is amazing! If you live in a Apple Technology World of devices this is a must. I thought the Apple Watch would be the limit.

The Streaming Device for Apple users!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't say enough good things about this product! As an apple user with an iphone and imac, this is a MUST BUY! All of the apps are streamable. I use the CW app and everything I have bought in the past 10 years with my apple ID is now available on the TV! Ease of use is a big plus! Another amazing aspect about this device is that I lost the remote for a few minutes or the remote ran out of charge and found out I can cast the remote control onto my phone and it works amazing well! Just cant recommend this product enough! Once you buy you cant go back! Great product! The 4K also looks amazing!

Easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice update, have always like the Apple TV because it's easy to use and the picture is clear and crisp. Never liked the other streamers like Roku because they don't have as clear picture. Watch the Apple TV over regular TV. U-Tube is also clear as a bell. Seems more powerful and faster then previous Apple TV's.

Great media player, especially for Apple users
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this media player. The instant connection to your iPhone or iPad for anything that requires typing, much easier to use than remote. If you have most Apple devices in your house than this is must for anyone looking to buy a media player. My only knock is a love/hate with the remote. I like the ability to swipe and use "gesture" controls. However, when watching Netflix and pausing a show. A lot of times when I pause, or un-pause, it skips backwards or forwards 10 seconds because of the swiping functionality. There may be a way to adjust pressure of swipe or block that ability, just haven't tried looking yet.

Easy set up, great picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely easy set up. Awesome picture and sound. I had an older Apple TV, this remote is better. Although the remote feels of cheaper quality compared to the old aluminum remote.

Great product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had the older version of Apple TV, but due to U-Tube changes, this app would no longer be available on this older version, so reluctantly we bought the new version 4K and it is excellent. It’s easy to set up and use and the new U-Tube app on it is excellent. However, we don’t like the new remote as well as the old one because it is very touchy and will react to very little touch. But, the old remote is usable with the new Apple TV 4K, so if you are upgrading keep the old remote in case you don’t like the new one.

Buy, if you'e in Apple ecosystem and have 4K TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a no brainer to purchase if you're in the Apple eco-system and have a 4K TV. I have 3 Apple TVs of various generations including a very old Gen 1 that no longer get's updates. It's pretty limited on it's usage now so it was looking to get it replaced anyway. I happen to purchase my first 4K TV and felt I had to get a Apple TV 4K since it pretty much converts all media to 4K HDR if available. We do our movie purchases through streaming services and iTunes Movies so it just makes sense for us. While I like the Apple TV and all they integration with our Apple products, I do feel things could be better on it. I found at times the Apple gets sluggish and freezes up. The older gens are even worst. So as the tech gets better and the updates keep coming the older gens like computers and phones will be outdated. I'm not a huge of the control. It's very testy and you have to be pretty precise with your movements. Also the remote is gets lost WAY too easily. There should be a locating beep that can be actuated to find the remote. I still recommend it, it just could be better.

Out with the good in with the better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had Apple TVs since the 3rd generation was introduced always have liked them since I’m pretty immersed in the Apple ecosystem. I could be called a bit of a fan boy, but these units are getting better as they go. Yes I’ll admit that Apple lagged behind on the whole 4K front, but they’ve caught up now and even are HDR capable. However, of every improvement to this new 4K unit over the 4th gen units (of which I have two) my favorite is by far the ability to FULLY control the actual tv via the Apple remote. Yes in 4th gen units you can control things like the volume, but these 4K units make it to where you could essentially loose your actual tv remit and be pretty ok. You can now wake and sleep your unit in synchronicity with the Apple TV remote. One remote controlling two pieces of hardware seamlessly.

Good product, go Apple!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like Apple because of ease of use. Phones, computers, tablet, and now TV. AND access Disney+ I got Disney+ but I have Comcast and they don’t offer that app, so I could only watch on iPad. Short of buying a new TV, Samsung comes with app, this was my only choice. I tried iPad to TV, no joy. Bought this little guy so I could get my Disney/Pixar/Marvel fix. To the product ease of use, though it did take a call to service center to set up. I couldn’t figure out the remote. For me it was not intuitive. User idiocy or no instructions or both. Call center said they get many calls with the same issue. Communication in packaging would be great. That said and once all was set up AppleTV! The remote is nice and tiny, adventurous to find. Hard to hold, the little bugger leaps out of your hand and hides. It is uber sensitive, one little touch, and something new will appear on your TV. The buttons are tiny, not well marked and made for tiny fingers. One star off because of the remote. The remote seems flimsy, as well.

Apple TV 4K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have tested with Apple tvOS Beta 11.2. What a great update to achieve the best streaming for ATV (latest edition) with a 4K DV capable TV. Now streaming is seamless and excellent for iTunes movies upgraded to 4K DV and also 1080i DVR recordings. Not having to change output resolution is priceless.

This device is essential if you have a 4k tv.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apple has released a product that I'd say is a must buy if you have a 4k television. Regardless if you are in the apple ecosystem or not this device will really transform your entertainment center. Apple will still support this device and older devices, by releasing excellent content through their streaming services and apps. This device works well with most apple devices. Its easy to use and the siri integration is a game changer. I think the price of this item is a tad high considering other similar devices exist on the market, none are as refined as this one i believe. If i had to complain about something it would be the fact that this doesn't ship with an HDMI cable which is something to consider because it becomes an added cost. I hope with future iterations they beef up the internals to compete with game consoles and throw in a compatible high speed HDMI cable to sweeten the deal. Otherwise this device has exceeded my expectations and will remain the only device I need in my entertainment center for the foreseeable future.

Easy to install, works well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace an older Apple TV. Its more expensive than many other similar devices, but I'd been happy with my original Apple TV and didn't want to change for the sake of change and be disappointed. Like the original, it was easy to install, was up and running in 5 mins or less and has been working flawlessly.

Worth every penny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is exactly what you would expect from apple with many welcome surprises. The only downfall is as of right now it doesn’t support YouTube 4K video, but that could change with software updates in the future I’m sure. Other than that, it’s faster and better than its previous model.

I cant believe the difference!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I didn't expect a world of difference between the already fantastic video quality of the previous generation Apple TV, I was extremely pleased to see that most of my newer downloaded iTunes movies automatically displayed in 4K! I found out the hard way I did need to buy a newer HDMI cable to get the full 4K HDR 60Hz video quality, but once I did that, I couldn't believe how much clearer the movies were on my Sony 65 inch! I may end up buying another for my bedroom to replace the older gen apple TV in there as well since these are much easier to navigate than the factory operating system and apps on the sony, and quite a bit less quirky!

Great little streamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this device to turn an older non-smart TV into a TV able to access various apps like YouTube, Netflix, etc. that I want access to on my TV. I have been very pleased with the Apple TV. It is small and very easy to setup. The picture quality has been good and I have had no issues with any buffering. Airplay is also a very nice feature if you have other Apple devices like an iPhone, iPad, Macbook, etc. that you want to share content from. I can't think of anything negative about the device other than its price. It is much more expensive than most, if not all, other streaming devices.

amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple TV 4K is an almost perfect streaming box. The interface is so easy and logical especially with voice command and the long-awaited ability to watch movies and TV shows in 4K and HDR. And perhaps most important, it seriously drives down the cost of digital 4K releases. Sure, competitors like Roku and Amazon's Fire TV have had 4K/HDR capabilities for years, but Apple's pricing model makes the format more accessible to consumers. I am an apple user and this seamlessly blends with all my devices in an amazing manner including the ability to use AirPlay to get my MacBook and other devices displayed in 4k on my tv.
