We have an older Apple TW that periodically freezes or drops signal. I thought this was due to the cable company but after seeing other comments I realized it was the Apple TV box. We heard the newer models did not do this so we gave it a try. We have not had a single issue since the new Apple TV was set up. We love our Apple TV, only wish Apple would have partially covered the replacement.

Love my Apple TV. The interface and remote is definitely much higher quality than the Fire TV

The Apple 4K tv is a great option to circumvent lower tier TVs poor image processing or smart system. A lower end vizio would be slow and have less support for some applications and a lot of baked in, non removable ones you will never use, but this allows you to have a snappy system, bypass the terrible processing and carry the experience with you to other TVs as well.

I have been using an old laptop hooked up to my TV for a long time to watch TV, Netflix, etc. That is basically what I use the Apply TV for now. I like how it integrates with the Apple Ecosystem so I can share the screen of my phone or iPad on the TV. The optional remove on my iPhone is nice and sometimes easier to use than the remote that came with it, especially since the iPhone app has skip forward and backward buttons.
