It's fine but the apple id password system is terrible.

Bought the 4k version of Apple tv on June 6th, plugged into a tv, no signal. Tried an Asus monitor, no signal. Tried a different Asus monitor, no signal. Bought a "4k" approved cable June 9th. plugged into a tv, no signal. Tried an Asus monitor, no signal. Tried a different Asus monitor, no signal. Returned both items on June 9th, (30 minutes later). Apple should work on it QA with these devices. Mine was junk.

If you are planning on running a sound system or Bluetooth speaker off of it, forget it! It has no audio out, and the sound constantly switches back to HDMI forcing you to stop whatever you’re watching,go to settings and change it back to Bluetooth. The voices never match up with what’s on screen. It’s always about a half a second behind. It’s so annoying that I’ve contonplated throwing it into a lake... Do yourself a favor and steer clear of AppleTV until they decide to reinstate the optical out or add a some sort of audio out besides the horrible Bluetooth...

I hate the remote, it's too sensitive and its not as good as the 3rd gen's remote. Wish I hadn't had to upgrade for the 4k

So pretty unhappy with my Apple TV unit. Netflix and Hulu don’t work often and I’ve tried reset and a few other things. When it works it’s great but when it doesn’t it’s useless. Paying what I paid for this unit it should work.

As usual with Apple products, the remote is designed for aesthetics, not functionality. It took me a good thirty minutes to get this thing set up.

We just got the Apple TV 4K 64GB several weeks ago due to changing streaming requirements. Not sure why but when we watch the ABC news streaming channel, it intermittently plays the sound. The voice goes in and out. On top of that, we often get an error that says no internet connection. However, when we check our internet speeds and other wifi enabled items, there is nothing wrong. As a result, we need to keep unplugging and replugging the cord to the Apple TV a lot. This solves the problem. We are going to return this unit in case it is a lemon.

It does TV fine, but if you want to use your amazon subscription to its fullest, no dice. If you want to use spotify, no dice. Maybee... if Apple decides you can. If you are happy living inside the box Apple defines, this is for you.

My system keeps requiring that I give an authorization code to keep using the new Apple TV. When I do it it works but annoying to have to do this. This did not happen until after the Geek Squad guy left. Now happens about once a week.

Remote broke in 2 weeks and I have to used my old remote.

This product has not worked since we set it up. The picture fades in and out, or the show will glitch while we are watching it. We have had good luck with other streaming products in the past, and should have continued to use them rather than turning to this product instead. Save your money and don't buy this Apple product!

Better if connected directly with my Macbook Pro. In addition, every application (almost all of them) are paid for, Maybe I haven'y try hard enough, since I didn't have the time.

While I love apple this unit does not stay connected or stream well everything else I have connected no problem I’m really disappointed in apple tv

I am really disappointed in this product. I have been a loyal Apple customer for decades. This is the first product I have had major issues with over all those years. I was so excited to replace my old Apple TV 3 with new technology only to find out it doesn’t work well and has many glitches. I have spent countless hours with Apple support trying to fix the problems to no avail. It should have been replaced.

It was hard to get set up, also the remote is not working. not very user friendly. I really like my old one.

Not worth buy, if you have the money get the 4k Instead.

If your planning on using this without any cable it will not work!! One of the associates told me it would work if I didn’t have cable and he was wrong.

I bought this so that I could stream Xfinity at my lake cottage on my TV using Airplay. Apple service said I could. Didn't know that Comcast blocks that functionality - now I do. Now it's not even as useful as my FireTV stick from Amazon at 1/10th the price. It also needs resetting about every other day. The remote has to be charged pretty often rendering it useless while you're charging. And the swipe pad on the remote is annoyingly unresponsive.

I purchased this device several months ago. I turned it on yesterday and had an error message on the screen. I call tech support for apple they said take it to best buy to be fixed. Took it to best buy, nope they won't touch it. It needs to be sent to Apple. Turn around time is at least 10 business days. So I would have been better off buying something cheaper that could have been thrown away if it broke and purchased a new one.

The Apple TV 4K is definitely a 5 star product for certain people. You fit the bill if: You have a 4K TV, are heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem/iTunes, are willing to subscribe to Netflix and/or premium channels/already have cable, and have a strong (above 20 MBPs) internet connection. UI: As per most Apple products the UI is pretty dang flawless. Navigating is easy and the Siri remote works wonderfully and is actually pretty fun to use. Folders and app re-arranging is possible just like in iOS and the amount you can download is only limited to your storage space. I bought the 64GB and have yet to even break the 32GB (base model) mark. Apps: There are a TON of apps, a lot of them with free content. Comet, Shout Factory, Mascot, and Waves to name a few. If you have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu etc. then this is definitely the best experience for all of them. They work really well with Apple's "TV" app too for endless bingeing with it's resume and up next features. Not to mention: there's a wealth of games and other cool apps to download. Video: One of my favorite features of the aTV is how highly intelligent it is in regards to different resolutions, frame rates, aspect ratios and dynamic range. Since it's recent software update the aTV is able to automatically switch all of these to give you the original content un-altered, on even a 4K TV... Pretty neat. Device: The box itself is super slick and small. It disappears well into your entertainment center and is completely silent thanks to it's tiny fan. There's even an ethernet port on the back for all the hardwire fans. Overall I'm really happy with my Apple TV 4K. I can definitely tell that this is the direction TV will be heading in the future and it's a good start. If you're like me and are still into live TV and DVR functionality it probably won't replace your TiVo/Cable company DVR for the time being but it's definitely a big step forward for IPTV.
