The 4th generation of Apple TV has changed how I watch TV. It's lightning quick, streams without buffering, and has introduced gaming and apps to Apple TV. With Siri and the ability to receive sports updates while watching programming, the sky's the limit for Apple TV.

For the five TVs around my house I have 2nd and 3rd gen Apple TVs. I also have Chromecast on a couple of the TVs and Amazon Firestick on one of them. My TVs are also Smart. My 4th Gen Apple TV is by far my go to streaming device. In my opinion, the way it is Apple software is structured makes this the easiest of them all to maneuver around the various apps - adding, deleting, and organizing apps. Using the Siri voice command feature works nearly flawlessly. love how multiple sources popup when searching with voice, from free, to paid, and even your own video library. I also don't get the strong sense that I'm being spied on by Apple, nor am I targeted with ads. It probably helps that that there are gobs of apple devices around my house, all with the ability to connect to all my TVs. The $199 price for the 64 GB version is a bit on the high side for a streaming device, but I don't regret paying for it. You should be disappointed if you buy this. I also bought the add-on Sideclick device to enhance the Apple TV remote, which it does nicely. It adds a few nice to have features that allow me to control some of the more frequently used functions on my home theater system, and bulking up the Apple TV remote, making it less difficult to lose,

It's perfect for me, for the quality, the system is so easy to understand, the control is so cute and practical. Other plus its that when you put sleep now in the Apple TV is power off the screen too the same in volume.

I love my Apple TV. My daughter loves playing the games and downloading the different apps. This is the best thing I've bought for my family. Everyone should get it

Bought ultra K TV and the previous unit couldn't provide service as well as it did on previous TV so we went to the top of Apple TV unit and have not regretted it one bit!

I upgraded my previous Apple TV Gen 2. This unit has the ability to add apps and can allow audio to be streamed to a Bluetooth headset.

Bought this for our son so he could watch Netflix and Hulu since he doesn't have a Smart TV in his family room. Worked out well for him.

Apple TV is great. We watch a lot of sports and this allows us to watch games that are not on TV

Having been w/ Apple products for years, I can say that this was a great upgrade over previous Apple TV's. PROS: -Picking and choosing your own apps is awesome...I was pleasantly surprised when I first booted it up and there were zero third-party apps pre-installed. -Apple Music through my home theater without having to AirPlay. (Although it would have been nice to have this on my older ATV, it is a benefit for upgrading.) -While it is no PC or console, it is kinda' fun to do some simple mobile gaming on my TV, and some games have multiplayer support. -New remote w/ touchpad is outstanding! -Siri commands are awesome for search functionality! CONS: -Most of the above features are available through other manufacturers devices for cheaper. -Siri is limited to Apple TV related commands and does not have the full functionality of the iPhone version. -...and finally, my biggest con, there is no 4K support baked into this version. Overall, a great upgrade for those committed (or stuck?) to the Apple ecosystem and I fully recommend for those still in the 1080p level who do not yet have an Apple TV. If you have already upgraded to 4K, it might be worth waiting unless you just want a really cool new Apple TV experience.

I have owned the previous generation ATV since 2013 and I have loved it. Sure it had its drawbacks, but having the ability to access my movie files from the TV and free up my laptop is amazing. Since I have such a large library of TV series and movies, it was a HUGE PITA clicking to scroll through it all. Not to mention, forcing the old ATV to sleep was such a b****. You had to go into the settings and click the sleep button. Now with this new tvOS searching, sleeping, and scrolling are a thing of the PAST! The interface is much more familiar to those that use iOS devices. It has an app store that you have to download the different apps, even games! You now also have the ability see each open app and close them in a similar fashion like iOS with a swipe up. You can also switch apps much easier as a result. The remote can now put the ATV to sleep with one button. You just hold the 'TV' button and the option pops up. You click the remote and done! The addition of Siri is great too! It's not as intuitive as in iOS, but I think that may change with future updates. Siri can understand which movie or TV you want, but is limited right now to iTunes library searches. I have tried to search for things in the apps, but it isn't there yet. Like I said, with future updates, it may change. The developers of these apps will most likely update them quite often, which is a great thing. With this new ATV, the interaction with the purchased content is way better as well. I am happy with this purchase and will be replacing all my ATV's in the house with this new generation. I suggest you all do the same if you own one currently. If not, then you need to drop your Roku and FireTV for this!

I had a generation 2 Apple TV so I was familiar with it's capabilities but this new 4th generation Apple TV simply blew me away. The most significant thing about it is that it's smart enough to control both my TV and Home Theatre system! No piece of gear has ever done this before. It has always been a hassle to put the TV on the correct input and put the Home Theatre on the correct input to use Apple TV in the past. Not with this version. I don't even have to turn my TV or Home Theatre on. They can both be off and I just turn on the Apple TV and it turns on my TV and switches it to the correct input, and it turns on my Home Theatre and also selects the correct input so with one click of the Apple TV remote EVERYTHING turns on and off and gets set to the correct inputs. The Apple TV remote even controls the volume on my Home Theatre system without any programming. I was totally in shock when this happened. Leave to to Apple to finally make TVs and Home Theatre easy to use. Of course the Apple TV now has apps and you get to choose which ones you download so that your main menu is not cluttered with icons that you will never use (which I hated about the old Apple TV). You can also download games and play them on your TV which is a big bonus over previous versions. Finally the Siri integration is awesome. Being able to just say what you want is the best interface you could have. Just tell Siri to find a show and she searches several services to find it. Of course, I can still share slide shows from my iPad or iPhone with music just like I could with previous Apple TV or use AirPlay to watch a video from my Mac. This is the best addition to my entertainment system that I have ever made. If you own an older Apple TV you owe it to yourself to upgrade. Apple has done it again.... TV made Easy!

I've been using Apple products for years, I can say that this was a great upgrade over previous Apple TV's. I have both this Apple TV and Roku 4 and I do tend to use them quite frequently, I always prefer the Apple TV over the Roku on it's simplicity and fluid like OS aka TVOS. However, I have put in my own words some of the pros and cons of this device. Pros - Being able to pick and choosing your own apps is awesome. I was pleasantly surprised when I first booted it up and there were zero third-party apps pre-installed. - Apple Music through my home theater without having to AirPlay. (Although it would have been nice to have this on my older ATV, it is a benefit for upgrading.) - While it is no PC or console, it is kinda' fun to do some simple mobile gaming on my TV, and some games have multiplayer support. - New remote with touch pad, Siri voice, volume controls, and built in rechargeable battery with Apples lightning cable is outstanding! - Siri commands are awesome for search functionality and simplicity! Cons - Most of the above features that you get on this are available through other manufacturers devices like Roku, Amazon, and Chrome, for a lot cheaper. - Siri is limited to the Apple TV related commands and does not have the full functionality of the iPhone version. - No 4K support installed or supported on this 4th Gen. Overall, it's a great upgrade for those committed to the Apple ecosystem and I fully recommend for those still in the 1080p level who do not yet have an Apple TV. However, If you have already upgraded to 4K tv or one with HDR, it might be worth waiting for the 5th Gen unless you just want a really cool new Apple TV experience.

I've owned all the apple TV's, this one is by far much improved with the App Store being available now, and choice of storage. The interface feels right at home, like I'm just using my iPhone. Setup was super simple. All I had to do was hold my iPhone near the Apple TV and the Apple TV took over and automatically picked up my secure network, Apple ID, photos, music etc.... That one was brilliant apple! I am still however getting used to the remote. It is growing on me though, it is very sensitive but you are able to adjust its sensitivity with 3 pre determined levels. The remote requires no batteries, it is charged when it needs to be via lightning connector. I've had no problems with it whatsoever, even far away. as far as apps for it go, seems there isn't a vast amount of them but just enough to satisfy you I guess. Apparently some aren't as compatible with Apple TV as they need to be. I have not personally experienced this yet, everything that I have downloaded (35+ apps) have all been just fine except for one game wich was "lumino-city" (keeps crashing). if your a fan of Apple Music you'll love it on Apple TV, all your downloads show up in ATV also. I love the fact that you can jailbreak and side load Apple TV again. I have Kodi and some other non-native apps installed on my ATV via IpaWind and a computer. All you'll need to do that is a usb2 to usb-c cable, and a computer. Can also use X-code if you have a Mac to sign your own applications. Games are fun to play on this, the remote can be turned sideways and used like a gaming controller. The thing that really stands out for me with this ATV though is its app menus, homescreen, generally anything you open up..... The colors and definition the Apple TV generate are mesmerizing!! Everything is laid out perfectly and just plain looks spectacular! For those of you trying to decide whether this box is worth the money, or torn between a cheaper android set top box and this, take my advice, especially if you own an iPhone or like apples products and give this a try! You won't be disappointed! I would absolutely recommend this to my friends.

I replaced a five year old Apple TV with this new model. I love the look and feel of the new interface. The remote is amazing and I love the ability to slide over the remote the move over the various selections. Siri also adds some convenience and fun when searching for content. Set up was very easy, especially if you have Apple iPhones or an iPad. I suggest going with at least the 64gb version.

If you have owned a Apple TV before it's pretty much the same. The only different would be the touch remote and the newly added app store use to download games or other misc. apps. I really didn't like how siri only looks for movies and not other items that belongs to you. I wish it was little more personalized like your siri on the iPhone. That's one of the major disappointment for me. Besides that, it's pretty cool how you can play games and across through your main page. I really like the new Apple TV. Pro: the touch remote. Apps. Games Easy to move around the screen. New formats for all the apps. You can pick and choose what apps you want unlike the older models where it's automatically added on and manually hide from the main screen. Con: Siri doesn't work like your iPhone. It's only used for Movie recommendation. The resolution is still at 1080P not 4K resolutions like the other streaming devices. Need more Apps!

I bought this item open box online, after having a great experience purchasing my iPad Pro open box at a Best Buy in Gainesville FL. To my surprise, this product had been used for quite a while. It was scratched all over, bad, bad presentation. To the point that the economy I was making to get it open box was not worth it. Item was immediately returned.
