Picture quality is excellent if you use a high quality HDMI cable. I have my Apple TV routed through a Sony amp which upscales the picture to 4K and on to the 4K TV. In my opinion it is somewhere between 1080p and 4K quality, but still excellent. The swiping on the remote is a slight issue but should be addressed in a future software up date. The ATV has an option to control the on/off and volume of the TV and an amplifier - useful quick all off or on feature, although for it hasn't worked every time. Again a software update would resolve. Sound quality is incredible as Apple are now transmitting movies in 7.1 as are Netflix for most content. Apps and games are good e.g NBC sports extra, HUE wireless lighting control and of course Crossy Road!

Had the last gen Apple TV and I can tell you this is a great upgrade. Remote is great and love the interface. Go buy this device!!

The remote takes a few minutes to get used to it. I got this so i could use HomeKit with my ecobee thermostat If you need to use a HDMI switch, make sure that you have a quality switch. I had a cheap switch and had problems with video out. Hooking it up to the TV directly, I was able to complete the setup. I purchased a Rockfish 4 port switch and that works just tine with the Apple TV. Finding new apps from the TV app store is a little rough. There is a search, but that only works when you know what you are looking for. I would suggest getting the Apple TV Remote App for your iPhone/iPad. That makes like easier to input usernames and passwords I only use it for a few things right now, but I can see using it more in the future.

I love it I use it every chance I get. Will be getting another for my other TV. Great quality great picture and real easy to use.

If you already have an Apple TV you might think twice because essentially it's does the same thing. However, there are some overall improvements in performance and features and the "Siri" feature works well.

I had been waiting for Apple to add an AppleTV App Store for years. This new version is so much faster than previous versions.

I enjoy the new Apple TV. Siri is helpful and the games are fun to play to pass time.

Better navigation...and Siri helps very much. Love the app store and the screen saver with Drone videos...runs real smooth.

This offers a growing list of Apps aswell. My kids enjoy the games, and we enjoy iTunes access to music shows and movies

I own Roku (several of them 1, 2, 3 and the new 3) and TiVo (Bolt) and AppleTV is the absolute best streaming player. Pros: Most of the important apps. Easy access to iTunes music, iCloud pictures and iTunes movies you've already purchased. Fun games! Really. Not for super serious gamers, but great for regular gamers, like me. App store! Smart remote with Siri that actually works. I love using Siri "what did he/she say?" Cons: No Amazon Prime Video. No Sling TV. No TV package (yet).

The hardware is familiar to any Apple TV owner, just a bit taller. Setup was easy and has been streamlined if you have an iPhone. The addition of an app store will bring more flexibility and usability to the device. Having 7.1 sound is a big plus, but it does not support 4K resolution so the best you'll get is 1080P. An irritating gripe, but as there isn't any real 4K content for streaming (excluding some Netflix) it's a non-issue. Ultimately it's the Apple TV, only better.

This is a better APPLE TV with good lots of storage for various apps. . Good Remote for playing games.

The fourth generation Apple TV is amazing. I like the new interface with the remote and being able to play games. I also like that I can pick and choose which apps to have on the screen, unlike the previous versions where you had a set selection which cluttered the screen. The selection of apps and games is huge.

Good if you are in the apple ecosystem; bad otherwise. I own a Chromecast too and I like it better. The remote and siri features are cool and have potential but are currently kind of limited.

Love love this apple tv, its so easy to setup,love The remote thats so smooth to control. Just swipe and you are there in a sec.. Has lots of app and games you can download. Have lots of storage and it super fast to load all your apps and games.. Has no lag at all. Love my apple tv.

The good: the remote works very good for scrolling and of course the siri option. Changing audio and language settings is quick. The bad: wont allow internet searching with siri which limits her functions. There are still very few apps for apple tv. Cannot use a bluetooth keyboard unlike prior models. What could be done better: Apple could easily include users to this device which would allow customization like the phones by including the fingerprint sensor to authenticate users. With this type of enhancement it would allow an icloud account to sync and alerts and messages could be displayed while using the device. You could also include answering calls from the icloud account and even include a front facing camera on the remote to allow for facetime. Having a stand for the remote would also be a great accessory to keep track of the remote and include a speaker to the remote so you can ping it using another apple device or include a find button on the box to ping the remote. A little more inprovement from the oldschool stuff would solidify more users and purchases.

Love, love, love! So many features I don't know where to start. I am having a lot of fun using the AirPlay that enables one can see your photos stored on iCloud on your TV. Streaming your music on your TV (mine is hooked up to speakers) works great when having a party. Apps like Netflix, History Channel, ESPN, etc. have terrific interfaces. This is a great and relatively inexpensive way to expand your home entertainment especially if you already own an iPhone.

We upgraded from our other Apple TV and we LOVE the new one. We really enjoy the new remote and the siri function.

I am a big Apple fan and long time ITunes user. I love this remote control. SIRI on the remote lets me pick my shows and then control my HomeKit HUE lights. I can ask Apple Music to play through my house. I miss the fiber optic output on the last Apple TV. And then there are the games. App Store for Apple TV. Beautiful clever silly fun games and the remote control becomes a game controller motion sensitive. I love this Apple TV.

This is the third Apple TV device I have purchased over the years for two different homes and for our daugther's dorm room. Set up couldn't be easier and use is intuitive. Love the new screen savers that feature amazing photography - a nice little unexpected bonus. Easy to access ITunes (like to see my photos, download movies); the whole range of services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.; and other Apps (great to have my exercise apps run on our big TV screen).
