Apple is moving this product in the right direction. This unit is a welcome update to the last model. Installing apps make this into an entertainment system for the whole family.

The new touch features makes it easier to navigate and siri makes this the ultimate device for streaming.

Very easy setup-- effectively plug and play. We do NOT have unlimited home internet because we live in a somewhat remote location, so all of the available streaming possibilities aren't a good fit for us, at least for now. But the device is still worthwhile. It provides a clean and elegant way to display what's on my phone or iPad on my tv, whether that's my own photos or videos, or downloaded material. In the past when we wanted to stream something, espn3 for example, it required a clunky setup of phone to laptop to tv with several cables in between. If we had speedy and unlimited internet like it seems everyone else does, this device would have been a no brainer several years ago and I wouldn't have waited so long. Even in our situation it is worthwhile. Now if I want espn3, I'll get it on my phone and then wirelessly send it to the Apple TV. No muss, no fuss. I also plan on moving my one device between at least two TVs.

Set up AppleTV and have been using it. It works fast, the setup is fairly easy and the quality is great.

Much advanced and useful than the previous generation. Simple and easy to use remote. Worth every penny.

The new Appletv is above and beyond my expectations. I will never spend my money on dish or cable again!

Easy to use and the App Store has a wide array of options. The screensavers are beautiful, by the way.

This is my 2nd one. I do have the original one which I use in my bedroom and now I use this in my living room. Very easy to use once you get used to the changes. I just wish it had the Amazon app, but I can do air play from my iPad to watch that. It does have lots of apps to choose from.

The Apple TV was easy to install. We enjoy not only Netflix and local programming but we especially enjoy streaming from our IPAD and IPhone. We can show pictures and slideshows as a way to make our own entertainment. Excellent device that allows us to personalize our TV viewing.

First, let me say that my husband is an Apple junkie and has to own virtually every new product that Apple come out with. He really likes Apple TV because it is easy to use and lets us stream video content on demand. He likes the fact that Apple TV syncs with his other Apple devices.

What an upgrade from the previous Apple TV! I can now browse through Netflix by simply asking Siri!

Our original Apple TV was very slow and sluggish. This new generation one zips right through apps.

This review is more helpful (if at all) to current owners of an older generation Apple TV. (If you don't own an Apple TV my advice is simply-- yet, get it. You'll ablsolutely love it.) But, current owners of an Apple TV might be wise to wait. Here's why: I was excited about this new model, mostly because it promised Siri voice interaction that would search across multiple apps (or "TV stations") to find all the places I could view a particular program. Sure, you can always rent a movie for $4.00 through iTunes, but those same movies are very often available through Nextflix, Amazon Prime, or another platform that's cheapaer than iTunes pay per view model. I wanted-- and appreciated Apple's platform neutrality promise-- to find the most cost effective way to watch a particular program. Unfortunately, Apple's current software is utterly disappointing in this respect. As far as I can tell, a search is only populated by iTunes data and sometimes (but oddly not always, it seems) Netflix data. In fact, because of a larger battle between Amazon and Apple, Apple TV does not have an Amazon Prime App (at least the last time I checked). I have talked about this issue with Apple Store employees who themselves had the same disappointing experience. In response to their own personal inquiries, they have been told (and they've in turn shared with me) that the platform neutrality that was boasted about at the last big Apple event will be forthcoming... just not quite forthwith.
