I upgraded from a gen2 to this new gen4 version and I'm glad I did. Very fast operation, easy to use UI, and now, apps and games. Good news...as usual, if you own the iPhone / iPad version of an app, you can install it on AppleTV. The new remote is quite nice. Siri is cool, but I rarely use the feature. It does work well as a game controller. The media clients; Hulu, Netflix, and FXNow are blazingly fast and trouble free. All in all, nearly flawless. We need an Amazon and a Vudu client, which I understand are coming soon.

I love the new Apple TV, it took a bit to get used to the new remote and not do unintended input. Once you get over that it's much better than the old remote. I just wish they would update the iPhone remote app already... And I love that it doesn't come with all that bloat ware pre installed... You get to really choose what you have installed... I'm no where near using the 64 GB X_x

I have owned the AppleTV for a couple of years now. It's always been a little better than other streaming boxes, like Google TV, but I never really liked the remote all that much. The new AppleTV vastly improves the remote, and the entire platform. It's actually a pretty dam good gaming platform now, and the addition of a robust App Store makes it complete. I went with the higher memory version in anticipation of a significant amount of apps being written for it.

i got this for my boyfriend for a big Christmas gift and he was so excited to get it!!! he really loves the new remote so much more easy to hold and the swipe ability is just amazing. he loves playing games and being able to have all his movie channels on one device! all in all its a great entertainment device easy to use and understand!!! totally useful and fun to have.

all new features and feel. The new remote is so much more useful than the previous versions. The App Store for Apple TV is loaded with things that bring more options to television than ever before. And the networking between my other Apple products is so cool.

We've been using the Apple TV for about 6 years, one on each TV in our house. We finally cut the cable a couple of months ago as we watch pretty much everything now through the Apple TV. It was therefore easy to justify the upgrade. The new remote is a huge improvement, especially with Siri search. The 3rd party apps are good so far, although not quite as many as I would like to see, but this will improve. Much better interface and performance.

I absolutely love my new Apple TV! It's a one time purchase of $200 but you'll never need cable again, making it a money saving product. I have the 64GB so there's plenty of room for pictures, videos, apps etc for my family of four. The coolest part is, like the iPhones, you can speak right into the microphone on the remote control and tell it what you're looking for! You'll love this! Note: The speed will depend on your internet connection.

I heard about how other systems were difficult to set up, after coordinating this with my iphone, I was able to set it up in about 5 to 10 min. I choose my apps / station and now I am ready to go. The mouse like remote is intuitive and efficient. I have not started to use the Siri, that should make it even easier and with apple's innovation I am looking forward to the developments. Stop being a couch potatoe jump on the band wagon!

This is a great upgrade from the previous. Can't wait to see what they do with the updates and the new apps they'll continue to add. Not sure if the 64gb is work the extra yet but got it just in case. Can never have too much memory. Really like the Siri addition and the new remote.

I wasn't hesitant to upgrade, but one of my old Apple tvs was acting funny so I tried the new one out. Love the Siri feature and the new interface. Some of the games are fun too. The remote, while an improvement in functionally has two major flaw.s It can't be locked, and the touch pad will randomly start fast forwarding or rewinding if you bump it or pick it up. And if you pick it up and aren't looking at it there's no way to distinguish the direction you're holding it. You could have it in your hand upside down and be hitting the wrong buttons or trying to use the touch pad when you're not on it.

I owned the previous generation of the Apple TV, so I had high expectations for this one. I was not let down. The Siri voice search works slick and the new remote is far superior to the old one. Load times are faster and some are almost instant, which is sweet. The new game function is... Eh. I have a PS4 and X-Box One if I want to play a game, so this is t a big deal to me. But otherwise I love this new version.

easy to use, easy to set up, looks nice, and has many features. What else would you expect from an apple product? Probably the worst thing about it is the touch remote is prone to accidental gestures while watching tv but it also allows you use many apps and easily navigate so I'd rather have it than not. I did have some issues the one time I tried to use Siri, but I hate Siri so I just thought it was funny.

The 4th gen Apple TV is a powerhouse in one. It airplays my iPhone, shuts off my lights with home automation, and Siri built into the remote makes searching way easier than gen 3. This is what Apple TV should have been in the beginning. If you are looking to invest in something to replace that cash guzzling cable box, buy this. Sure it's more expensive than chrome cast or Amazon fire, but the speed, ease, and convenience is well with the extra money. I own Apple TV 1, 2, and 3. This 4th gen is worlds beyond the first three. Apple always had the easiest menu and smoothest working device.

This is definitely a notch above the previous model. It's faster more featured and offers games now. Netflix is better than any other device I have used.

A better interface than previous versions and the addition of games that you can play is good for the kids. The remote is a major improvement as well.

I've owned every generation of Apple TV and this is by far the best version of the product to date. The remote is a great improvement over previous remotes and contrary to what I have read on other sites, the Remote App from the App Store does work completely with this version of the product. I love the Apps that are available for the TV and have noticed that the list keeps growing.

This is a game changer on how to watch TV. It's intuitive, complete, responsive. It's Apple! Love the App Store tie-in and being able to download the apps you want rather than having pre-populated choices. The only thing I don't like is that you can't connect a Bluetooth keyboard to it. Searching is cumbersome with the horizontal scroll. My reco: Don't live another day without it.

Really enjoying the new Apple TV. The remote took a little getting used to but it is so convenient and easy to use. The interface with the apps such as Netflix is much better with this version of the Apple TV. Love the addition of Pandora. Still waiting on more apps but the kids love playing the games. Don't need a second remote for two players. Can control with the iPad.

I've had the last 3 Apple TV generations and this is my favorite so far. The remote feels great, and what's not to love about the addition of games and apps. Seeing everything on the big screen paired with the simplicity of the gaming controls is a win win. Highly recommend! Be sure to get the higher storage as you will run out quickly as apps get more abundant.

Plugged it in and it was working. The apps are building weekly. It gives us the flexibility that we needed. Like siri finding us the weather it is just easier to use. Remote does more that we can use right now but we can see the growth. Significant improvement over previous generation. Expect the apps and integration to accelerate rapidly from this platform.
