I really like the new Apple TV. The picture quality is excellent. Having the app store and the ability to download apps makes this much better than previous versions. My only knocks against the product is Apple decided not to have Podcast on the new Apple TV (although you can play Podcast through your network to the Apple TV) and it doesn't display 4K video. These two reasons keep me from giving it 5 stars.

This a great product for all of your multimedia steaming needs. Simple to use and set up even for a first time user. My kids like being able to play their apps directly on the T.V. Watching, buying and renting movies through iTunes is a snap. I was skeptical at first on how much I would use the device, but after having it for a few months now I am sold.

I originally bought one new AppleTV after using for another a couple of days, I went back to BestBuy and purchased another one for a different TV. The new remote works much better since it is not IR. It syncs with the TV and sound so I do not need to reach for another controller. The OS is improved and the streaming works much better

Superb quality and typical high performance for an Apple product. Like most of their products, it is intuitive to learn. Right now, there is not much literature online that is easy to access. The format and layout, however, are well done. Can't wait to see how it develops and hopefully, we will see TV-related apps really take off!

This is a great addition to a HD television. Great apps, easy to use. I only wish it had a hard drive to download content to. If you have great Internet access it isn't a problem. We have slower DSL access so it would be better to download things to watch later.

We loved our Apple TV. We had the version previous to this new Apple TV. I was very excited to get this new device that promised more features. The ability to add apps is great, but really there are not a ton of exciting apps yet. There were also some channels built in to the old device that are NOT available on the new one yet. This was disappointing. I liked some of the odd channels the old device had installed. We played a few games the first night we turned the new one on, but really... this is not a gaming device and I doubt it should be a feature you feel should be an influence on your decision. When it comes to Netflix, HBO, Showtime etc... you will notice NO difference between the last version and this. The new Apple TV does not have 4K as of yet but from what I am reading it is capable so could be added in a future firmware update. I like to connect the new device to my bluetooth headphones so I can watch movies or listen to music. I do not think the older versions could do that I will keep this new one and wait for more apps to come out, but if you just want to watch Netflix and be able to screen cast from your other apple products, then the last version is all you need. Yes I would recommend this to a friend, but would explain a few caveats. It is not a failure by any means, just not the super awesome upgrade it sounded like before using.

every day the app store becomes larger and larger. the apple tv is fast,a lot faster then previous get. Espy app actually works consistantly. games are even fun to play. airplay works great. only think i don't like is actually how small the remote is and at night with light off, i always pick it up with the wrong orientation.

More expensive than Chromecast, Fire TV and Roku; but if you own any iTunes content then this is an obvious purchase. Interface is great (except for typing!) and the addition of voice control helps in that area as well. The addition of iOS games makes this an awesome device for families who prefer casual gaming to consoles.

I have the original Apple TV and when I saw this one I immediately wanted to try it. The fact that you can download apps makes it so much better. My kids love it since they can play some of the games they already play on their ipad on the TV. Plus new apps are being created as well so very happy with our new Apple TV.

The Apple TV Generation 4 is awesome. It's blazing fast, and allows for countless number of games and apps to satisfy many if not all of my needs of a smart TV. As more apps are released, the doors just keep opening up further and further. I cannot wait. Literally. I'm eager to see what the future of apple TV holds.

This thing is amazing. The new remote is awesome once you figure it out. Interface is smooth and fast. I am looking to replace all my old Apple tvs with the new model.

I've always been a fan of AppleTV in both it's massive amount of quality content and it's elegant, simple-to-use design. The latest version shows that Apple listens to its customers. The one major complaint I had about the previous version was having to individually search NetFlix, Hulu, and iTunes for a movie or a show (certainly don't want to pay for it if it's on NetFlix). The new version lets you search all providers in one spot! The next great addition are the apps. There are now a load of apps you can download from productivity to games. If I were going to say anything negative about the new AppleTV it's that as far as I can tell, there are no cross-compatible apps (i.e. iPhone, iPad, AppleTV). I'd like to be able to view apps I've purchased on my other devices and add them to my AppleTV...maybe there will be an upgrade for that.

I have an Apple TV on all 4 tv's in my house. This is my first one with storage space and I bought the 64gb version. I like it much better than the older models because it only comes with the 4 basic apps and you can go to iTunes to pick the apps you want. The previous versions had a bunch of apps preloaded and I only used maybe 10 percent of them. The games are a nice addition although they are nowhere close to PS4 or Xbox one quality. I'm sure they'll get better with time. The remote us really cool too. It has a touchpad for browsing and even Siri is there to help. I'm thinking of replacing the 3 older models with one of these. Hope Best Buy gives me a good trade in value on them.

No 4K but everything else about this new apple TV is awesome. Great apps and great games. Recommended.

Purchased this to move my 3rd generation Apple TV to the bedroom and put the "new" Apple TV in the media room. The new interface is great. Siri is handy for tv searches and finding movies. Can't wait to see what new Apps are on the way....

The new Apple TV is great. The touch screen makes using the unit easy to use. The best feature is Siri to use voice commands just like the iPhone. You can put games and any other apps that you want on the Apple TV. A great improvement over the previous unit. Recommend everyone to update to this new unit.

This version of the Apple TV is well worth the upgrade (or first time buy if you don't yet have a streaming device for that matter). With the addition of an App store, Siri functionality, and a fresh new user interface, this media streamer is top of the line in my opinion. I love the new Siri remote. I can stream from any of my Apple products with AirPlay (iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone 6s) directly to the Apple TV which is really convenient. If you have an extensive iTunes Library, turn on home sharing and this will stream anything from it over WiFi. I will put in one caveat - for those just watching Netflix or Hulu, etc., there are more affordable options out there that may suit your needs better. This would be an expensive machine if all I did was watch Netflix. But, for my purposes, this is an excellent buy.

I have had the Apple TV from the beginning and have to say that this version is leaps and bounds better than its predecessors. The on board storage, new remote and operating system all make the device a more comprehensive product.

A great update to the AppleTV. The App Store is wonderful. I have tried a few of the games and must say it is so much fun. My children love the Disney app so the can watch the shows they love there. We cut the cord with cable years ago and the AppleTV has made that choice some much easier.

It doesn't get much easier than this. Small, compact, versatile user friendly. Not sure how you can get so much out of the box. Movies download in seconds. Picture quality and audio is as good as the theater. This also takes into account that unit is attached to a high-end media center.
