Apps are what make this worth getting. Solid effort

My first Apple TV provided me with the ability to switch away from physical movies. I started buying most of my movies online. We have two homes, so it became increasingly obvious that with two Apple TVs, I could watch my movies in either location without having to carry a disc back and forth. Beyond that the itunes releases of movies arrive weeks before physical release of a movie to the stores. We love our little Apple TVs. The remote and search capabilities on this newest version are awesome.

So much easier to fast forward and type out things.

The fluency, speed and integration with iPhones, Beats headphones and all apps is nothing short of spectacular. I was unsure if I'd really use an Apple TV, being that I already had a nice Samsung SmarTV, but I definitely do and absolutely love it. It's as if you have an iPhone for your TV, really. Already have apps that allow you to share videos and such from your other devices? I did too, but they didn't work anywhere near as well as this Apple TV. Highly recommended from me.

I bought this Apple TV for the living room. It functioned very well right out of the box and was extremely easy to set up. Pitched videos, rentals thru iTunes, Netflix and iPad mirroring all worked great as expected.

I had a second generation appleTV and an extensive collection of blu rays and dvd's. I back up all my media onto hard drive so I can stream it to my television. Anything larger than a 40" television will require 1080p to be watchable. The 4th generation appleTV lets me use my Plex app so I don't have to lose quality converting to m4v files. Mkv files have much improved sound so I recommend this to anyone who wants the reliability of an Apple TV and the flexibility of a Roku.

This thing streams fast! Only slight negatives I can think of is the wired connection is slower than the ac wifi and no optical port.. Neither has been an issue. The App Store gets better every time I check it also

Love my Apple TV! Worth every dime! Works well with my other Apple products! With all the apps it inches me closer and closer to cutting the cord on my cable subscription! Love it!! Definitely worth the investment!

I have been holding out - I was a first gen Apple TV user. I must say the difference in technology is remarkable. The gen 4 Apple TV is fantastic. When used with a good home sound system iTunes can be played from the console. The HD video quality is superb along with many new options and apps. Mouse pad and raise to use option is great. No more changing input on tv, Apple TV does it for me when I access my remote. These little tricks mean a lot to me so I give it 5 stars.

I love this device. Better than Roku. Great apps, easy to use, syncs quickly with my other apple devices. If you are looking to cut the cable cord this is a perfect tool to start with! I did add an HD antenna to grab local channels that are not available to stream yet. But with all the available apps like Hulu, Netflix, Directv NOW, and the ability to get the NHL, MLB, and NFL Packages, why have cable! Use your iPhone as a remote, or have your MacBook AirPlay to your device!

I had the previous Apple TV and am a cord cutter. This new version is a tremendous upgrade over the previous model and provides great growth potential via apps.

We got the Apple TV to reduce our need for television. We had a extremely difficult time getting set up and had to order a replacement remote and eventually return for a whole new setup. Eventually we were able to use the product and love it ever since.

If it's in everything we do I can throw anything I want up there off of any device that I own it's an amazing product I love the interface I love the new user interface I love the remote everything is fantastic

Apple has become our go-to account for purchasing new media. Apple TV makes it easy to access any content quickly and easily. We didn't really need to get Apple TV2 since our original Apple TV was working just fine, but the low price made it a no-brainer and we're now able to have Apple TV in both the living room and bedroom. Solid performance, just like the first generation. NEVER an issue. That's a powerful statement in the glitchy tech world. Can't imagine life without my Apple TV!

With Apple's announcements to release more video content, it is now easier than ever to unplug. The apps are pre-loaded and the online community is so knowledgeable about connecting at an affordable rate without contract. The AppleTV makes it easy to select programming of choice, rent latest movies, and stay connected to premium content or news networks. Only request is to consider an add-on feature that is wireless antenna to pick-up local channels (10-20 usually).

Best streaming device for users in the Apple ecosystem. Access content from all of your devices. 4K output resolution unnecessary at normal viewing distances.

Apple TV was great but I did return it due to moving to android products. If you have all Apple products then this will work great with everything. I didn't like having to hold the mic button to give commands.

I needed a way to access the Internet and the available Apps- the old DVD player system just wasn't cutting it. I added another Apple product added to my household an I was not disappointed. I've the remote!

I have had the first generation model for many years. For about 6-8 months or so it has started taking longer to start movies, needed to be restarted, etc. I saw the new model and thought it was worth a look. I am blown away! It is fast! So much faster than my previous model. I like that I get to choose which stations and apps get loaded on my device. The mirroring and airplay are seamless and lots of fun to play around with. I am very happy with this purchase!

This AppleTV gets the job done, and is faster than first Gen AppleTVs. at 199 it is a little bit pricey but if you wait for it drop in price I was able to snag it at 150 which is awesome.
