Smart Home hub for Apple HomeKit

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While this gets some use as a streaming device, its primary role is as a hub for my Smart Home/HomeKit enabled devices. It serves that purpose well, and also enables an extra TV. It controls Schlage Sense locks and Ecobee IV thermostats. I could also use an iPad as a hub, and may try that in the future.

Great alternative to cable

Bought for my parents

They aren't completely in the "Apple ecosystem" but they love it and they don't have cable anymore. I bought the 4k version for the tv in their room since they have a 4k tv in there and this one was for the living room since that one isn't a 4k tv.

The answer to accessing Apple TV plus Brit Box

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We tried using a Roku stick to access Apple+ and others, but the Roku overheated with our feed, so we gave up. Then we discovered the Apple TV HD and it is wonderful. And we ordered it from Best Buy and it came QUICKLY! It has been a real gift for us as we stay at home.

Great media streamer

(Netflix, Hulu l, etc.) I cut the cord a while back and use Playstation View for tv service. The Apple TV makes navagating all the different apps reason easy with the new TV app. Quality is great and voice commands make searching for shows a breeze.
