Charging port Not working on first week of use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this product at same time I ordered my notebook. Had a 3 week trip and now back using the notebook as my primary computer. Unfortunately, I noticed when I want to charge it because it completely depleted, if it is through this adapter, the computer keeps showing the "needs to charge or connect" screen, if i charge directly with its cable, it does turn on again immediately. Disappointed. The idea of getting it, was to be able to use a flash drive or something else while charging due to the lack of ports in the notebook

Buyer Beware!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are two different model numbers for this adapter. For whatever reason, Apple chose to offer the same two model numbers under the same product name. The one I bought and can no longer return doesn’t display 4K HDR movies from iTunes. Make sure you buy the model number (in tiny little letters on the box) that is A2119. The two options are the same name and look the same on the box. Not cool Apple! The new model does work, but Apple certainly didn’t make it clear. I would not recommend the first model of this product which is A1621.

Too hot to touch
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very expensive, after a few minutes of use it would get so hot you couldn't touch whatever was plugged in. This would probably damage flash drives and such. Not recommended.

Buggy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought I made a good purchase but the adapter is buggy. I saw everyone else's reviews which confirmed my issues with the unit. I also do not think usb c is ready for prime time use yet. Just too buggy.

Terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to watch movie on my tv. Had so many problems with it I took it back and got a refund. The picture kept going in and out. I would not recommend it because of my experience.

4K at 30Hz only
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This adapter costs a lot to be limited to 30Hz at 4K. I ended up keeping it and purchasing a $15 one online that could do 4K without a hiccup. If you're using <2k, should be fine

I would not buy this product...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not buy this product... I would determine exactly what my needs are for adaptors with USB C, and buy them individually from a much less expensive brand. Even if you do in fact want all 3 types of converter that this one is good for, buying all 3 would be less than this one from Apple. For the HDMI portion, just make sure you are buying a 4k adaptor if you want to see things in 4k.

Surprised to be disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was forced to make this purchase after finding out that the adapter products by other manufacturers did not provide sufficient power for the Apple disc drive. I don't like the "dongle" concept. Plus the USB port is "sloppy". You need to wiggle and shift the usb connectors to find the exact position. Never encountered this before, and very surprised that this Apple product was so poorly crafted. p.s. The Apple single port usb-c to usb adapter has the same fault.

Stopped working!!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stopped working after 4 months. Not covered under apple care and took several hours to deal with Apple to get replacement.

Give us a multi adapter with more type c
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fact that they can’t give us one more type C port and we can only one on a multi Port connector is why I give this 2 stars for Apple

Poor Connection - Good Quality
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good quality but HDMI cable produces poor output compared to USB-C and cannot be used for dual screens on the same line.

2nd one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second one...the usb C connection is flakey. Whenever I have it plugged into my Macbook it works as long as it connects and I don't move the usb cable or the adapter. If I move the adapter it disconnects. Very flakey. I bought one a while ago and this one to replace that one. Same results. Im setting up a genius bar appointment to see what Apple says

Very fragile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This adapter works amazing when it actually works. Like every Apple product, the connection points are extremely weak and 2 weeks into owning this it's already having issues with the connecting going in and out if you move the cable at all. I'm going to have to buy the Microsoft adapter, it has thicker cables and connection points.

Only support up to 1080p
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Apple products. Bought this hoping to use it with my external 4k monitor. It was not able to display in the native resolution of the monitor. I thought it was a problem with the monitor at first. Played with settings and didnt help. Did some research and was disappointed to find out that it is not able to support above 1080. I wish it was mentioned in the product description.

Apple tax
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These adapters work well for what they are, but certainly come with the Apple Tax as they cost way more than they should.

Don't buy it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hdmi port lags and it is pretty much unusable for an external display. Only thing that works good is the USB port.

Didn't work reliably
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite installing the v1.0 Multiport Adapter update on my 2017 MacBook Pro, I consistently received static on my external HDMI display after the connected computer went to sleep. Apple Support couldn't figure it out. I went ahead and exchanged it for the VGA multiport adapter (also made by Apple).

There's something you should know
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.USB-c on the very left side is just for power supply. nobody explained it to me even in apple website.

Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a little too flimsy for me. Luckily it’s seldom used so I won’t worry about quality.
