Works Well When Others Didn't
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been toying with the idea of shelling out $1,299 for the LG 5k monitor, but I could not justify the price tag. I already had a 4K LG monitor with an HDMI output. The previous adapter I had, from Insignia, was a horrible. The monitor would flicker or not come on at all. After getting my MB Pro (late 2017) back after a false alarm, I bought the Apple adapter on a whim figuring I would have similar luck. Boy was I wrong! Plugged it in to my USB-C port and the HDMI cable and voila! Plus it also charges my AirPods.

Small Firmware Issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for over a year with 2 different computers. The only issue I have is that it takes a while to connect to my monitor when I first turn my computer on or wake it up. I have a Belkin adapter that turns on right away. I know these have firmware so I'm hoping Apple will fix this issue with a future update.

Gets the Job Done
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read the reviews before I purchased this product. Lots of negative review, mainly because of the HDMI connection makes their external monitor flicker. I spoke with the person in BestBuy and he said that it works right after you plug in and the firmware update is installed. So I bought this product and sure enough, the firmware update pops up and after the update, everything works. I plugged an HDMI that's connected to my external monitor (Samsung) and I also plug my iPhone to charge. Everything works. The only thing negative thing about this is the price. Seriously, $60+ for a multi-port adapter? This is straight robbery from Apple. And of course, we have to buy it since Apple removed all other ports. =(

A Must-have for the new MacBook Pros
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My desk setup has three Dell 27" 1440p monitors. Hooking up these monitors on my previous setup was using 2 Mini DP and 1 HDMI. have a Belkin Thunderbolt 2 dock that handles one of the displays. With the new MacBook Pro, I am running all with HDMI now because of the new MacBook Pro's port limitations. The dock goes into an adapter that goes into the MacBook. I have two of these Digital adapters for my other two displays. The last free port on the MacBook is used for charging. These adapters just work, enough said.

Buy it once
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start lets just say that Apple products are expensive. The question you have to answer for yourself is if it's worth it for your use case? This adapter is a quality product and just works, that's what your paying for. If you want to experiment you can buy two or three others and maybe find one that is just as good, but how much are you going to spend and how much of your time will it take up? I chose just to pay a little more and be sure that I was getting what I need.

Works as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well. I don't think I've used all three ports yet though. Mainly got this one over the usb-c to usb adapter for the rare time I want to hook my computer up to the tv via hdmi. Not sure when that'll be because I like being on my computer while movies or games are playing.
