Great for my MacBook it's the only way I can charge stuff to it

My daughter's new MacBook Pro is wonderful--perfect for her needs as a new college student. Because it doesn't come with the traditional USB port (for a flash drive or other extensions), nor does it come with an HDMI port, this adapter is the perfect solution. It does precisely what is needed to bride the gap between video presentations (HDMI) and external HDD needs (USB). I looked at other options--some that have even more features--but this one had all we really need. We have had great luck with Apple-made adapters and (so far) this adapter hasn't disappointed at all.

I have an iMac with two identical 27" HP monitors, one plugged into the Apple brand and another plugged into a generic one. They both display fine, however when the Mac goes to sleep, the generic adapter monitor keeps turning on/off my monitor every 20 seconds. I have been through all settings on Mac and monitor and they are exactly the same. I have to turn the power button off on that monitor. Not sure why it does it, but I think I will buy another Apple brand..

Vital if you plan on connecting devices to your Mac

So I have a new MacBook Pro, but it only has USB-C ports. It does not have a HDMI port like my old MacBook Pro. And it only has 4 ports. Enter this adapter. It plugs into any of the four USB-C ports, and it has a place for a USB-C cable to plug into it (from the power supply, ideally), a place for a HDMI cable to plug in, and a place for a regular USB plug to fit. Three ports in one. It is a bit pricy, I admit, but that is Apple. It does the job, the needed job, of multiplying ports and connecting devices to my new MacBook Pro. Well worth the cost.

Sturdy, well built and unfortunately a MUST HAVE for any new Macbook Pro user if you have to get to your mac via USB or HDMI. This USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter should have been included in all the new mac laptop packages. Not only that is not included but it is way overpriced.

The Apple USB-c Multiport Adapter is essential for the new MacBook Pro with two USB-c ports. It allows you to connect a USB cable, an HDMI cable, and a third one that I don't even know the name of. Without this adapter you will be limited to only connecting USB-c cables and to date there aren't many uses for the USB-c port as far as I can tell. I'm sure that will change in the future. I was glad that I purchased the adapter when I purchased the laptop. If I hadn't I would have had to make another trip to Best Buy to purchase it when I was setting up my new laptop.

Although I wish the new MacBook's included at least one other connector other than USB-C, this product does the job. Unfortunately I need 2 of these adapters per MacBook Pro (dual external screen) . Also works great with my USB to Ethernet adapter. Tried purchasing a few different non apple branded hubs, included VGA, HDMI, 3 USB and sdcard adapters. But they are all HORRIBLE. They get hot and sometimes don't even work.

With the dawn of USB-C, the new MacBook WILL require adapters for your older devices. This product works great but it's expensive (I wish Apple bundles this as part of purchasing a MacBook ... should also be free). I didn't have a chance to do more research about adapters when I bought my MacBook Pro. I ended up getting this adapter as a stop gap (for now). There are other aftermarket options out there for a cheaper price. Or, for the same price of this adapter you can get something more robust. Adapters!!! Adapters and more adapters!!! (Unless you buy new devices specifically for USB-C or update your cables for your older devices .. you do the math (or research)!!! :)

I have no complaints about this product. It works exactly how it is intended. I have had no issues. I read several negative reviews about this product before buying it on Apple’s website - they must not be from legitimate consumers. My guess is that they were posted by 3rd party companies who make a similar product. Although I’m starting to really dislike Apple, I have never had any issue with any of Apple’s dongles - so maybe not take every bad review about their dongles seriously.

I never thought that this would be a handy accessory, but with the new connections on the upcoming Apple products, this is a lifesaver. I am able to move files around via USB and charge my laptop at the same time. I haven't tested out the HDMI port yet, but hoping to do so soon. This product is simple, sleek, and makes my computing easier (when I don't use the Cloud). I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking into upgrading to a newer Mac but still loves their USB ports.

Apple wanted to make a thinner Mac Book Pro so the USB drive and ethernet connection had to go. I have a lot of USB drives so I had to buy this. I could have purchased a third party device but it wouldn't compliment my M.B.Pro . The multipart adapter is a strong quality build and the string adds a dimension of flexibility. So far there are no connection issues with any of the three ports.

It is an Apple adapter, so it: 1) Works as expected; 2)wears better than cheap 3rd party options; 4) Cost's significantly more than a small USB C dock. In the positive column the small size beats the heck out of using a dock. Also, I have discovered that I can attach a usb C charger to the pass-through port (or a powered device) to accomplish MacBook charging or device charging, while freeing the second USB C port on a MacBook Pro. Didn't buy it for that functionality, but it has proven to be a convenience a few times. Only negative is that it is a very pricey adapter.

I’ve had issues with the MacBook Pro, and brought this with me to the Apple store. With only 4 USB C ports, this is a very necessary adapter as I do music production. It is a crucial part of my setup, as I have an external 8TB drive and an HDMI monitor, in addition to Midi/audio interface. This adapter works! Period! No complaints, and it does what it says it will.
