This product is priced higher than average for a digital video adapter, but is worth every penny. Unlike other USB-C accessories which may be cheaper, but also are unreliable, this adapter works every time I plug in to it and it outputs video perfectly. I am very satisfied with this product and would buy it again.

The reason for not rating 5 stars is the price. $79 for a piece of plastic is brutal - but good on Apple to hold people hostage to buying it.

Not as full featured as some available from other retailers, however this dongle is backed by Apple and can be replaced at any Apple store if there's ever any issue with it. Not only that, but upon plugging it in the first time the firmware was immediately updated. It may cost more than others, but that kind of support is worth the cost.

While it seems like a hassle to have to use these dongles, it DOES make your computer so much lighter. I use two screens plus my laptop screen when I work and this dongle makes it possible. Do not risk the safety of your computer by using an imitation that could cause the computer to heat up.

It's a handy accessory for your mac book pro. I use it to plug my hdmi cable from my laptop to my tv to watch prime. I hate that you have to have so many external accessories for laptops these days ... this one is a three-in-one ... you also have a port for a USB plug in. All-in-all I am happy with my purchase.

For me this adapter has worked exactly as advertised. Since my new computer only has USB-C ports, I purchased both this and the similar VGA multiport adapter, and carry both at all times in the same bag as my computer. They don't take up too much space, and allow me to plug into just about any projector or screen, as well as USB-A devices.

It does exactly as it suppose to do. I almost subtracted a star as the box was damaged and the employee told me it was because a customer had opened it on the floor, but he refused to give me a discount. It was the only one they had and I needed it and he knew it. But that has nothing to do with the product, just my local Best Buy's service.

the computer only has ONE input output on it, so this "gadget" is just about required to run any device along with the computer; I'd have preferred two regular ports to the HDMI port that's on it, but c'est la vie. It's overpriced as heck, but without it, the machine cannot be connected to the outside world. So, bite the bullet and get one.

My new iPad has a USB-C port so I had to buy a new converter to play my iTunes purchased movies from my iPad to a TV. I tried to buy another adapter and it gave an error trying to play protected media. I just paid the $$ and got Apple’s cable and it worked perfectly! You get what you pay for!!!

I bought this because I could get it at a discount with my new MacBook. It is super helpful to have to integrate all my older technology to connect it to the USB-C. It is a bit pricey however and I probably wouldn't have bought name brand if I didn't get it at discount. However it is great quality and is extremely portable for anything I need on the go.

Great functionality... exactly what I needed for a young professional who frequently presents in different conference rooms and needs to carry a dongle to ensure that my MacBook connects to PC's or other forms of technology. Can't go wrong with this purchase.

The official Apple adapters are sometimes more expensive, but the fit and finish and reliability is fantastic. This adapter can be tossed in a bag and banged around and will still work every time. You can rely on this adapter for personal use or your next business meeting - we do all the time. I'd highly recommend this product.

The adapter performs as expected. I just don't like the fact that I am required to have this just to use my peripherals now. I understand the requirement to go thinner which forces this need but if you get home from work and don't have the adapter you have no way of connecting what you need at the time to the new Macbook Pro.

I had some issues with my off-brand multi-connector. It mostly worked, but a few TVs gave me problems. This one works with all of the TVs I have tried. Reliable for customer demos that I don't know what display I will be demoing on. Kinda wish it had an ethernet on it, but I don't grad it down for not.

this is a super must have adapter and the folks here at Best Buy just make thing happen it originally priced at 49.99 but I happen to find a great open box item foe a few dollars less so I went for it and item was just as a new one in fact it was a new one someone brought it back as they got the wrong one so thanks best buy

I do a lot of presentations for my work and as much as it pains me that I need an adoptor at all for my MacBook, this one is great. Have the connections which are wicked helpful so as long as I don’t accuse leave it out of my computer bag..... in other words, “don’t leave home without it!”

Yes, the Apple adapter is more expensive, but I have had no problem using this with multiple devices such as monitors and projectors. When I have gone the route of less expensive adapters, I sometimes run into problems, even with the same monitors and projectors.

I bought it for the new macbook. It works fine. No much to complain except the price.

It is somewhat annoying to need all the different adapters for the new Macs. However, the item works as needed.

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro (2016). Unlike my previous macs it didn't have any ports compatible with my devices. With only 2 USB-C ports available I knew I needed to make the most of it. The adapter was perfect. Not only allowed use of my existing usb devices it also allowed me to use HDMI for my monitor.
