The adapter works well enough. It allows the 2015 rMB and 2016 rMB to output 4k video (30 Hz on the 2015 model as-per limitations on the the iGPU hardware) as well as power and a single USB device (can be expanded via a hub). The adapter gets warm to the touch if all ports are being used. If you can find it open-boxed or used, pick one up. Otherwise, it may not be worth the full asking price.

This adapter works for all of my needs. the only additional cords I use are HDMI or USB so this is perfect for me. typically I keep it in my backpack connected to an iphone charger so when I'm out and about on campus or in class I can easily charge my phone through my laptop. works great!

The product is alright but for that type of money its not really that worth it. I need it for my usb so i had to get it.

Does everything you expect it to do. I wish the cable was a bit thicker/stronger.

This adapter is perfect! I'm able to change my MacBook, connect to HDMI and have a USB dive connected without any problems. Read reviews on non-Apple brands of this same adapter and they all said they eventually stopped working. I recommend going with the Apple version just to prevent any failures.

We've tried many after market products and every single one of them didn't meet our expectations (such as over heating as well as not charging the notebook). This unit does warm up tiny bit (reasonable amount of heat which won't cause damage to the notebook) and it does charge the notebook flawlessly.

I really loved that apple thought of a hub like adaptor with USB 2, USB C and an HDMI, all in one port. I use it daily with my Lenovo yoga book as well and have to say well worth the buy if you need to project using HDMI or want to use a bigger display at times at work. Just price factor is something why I didn’t give it 5 stars, could be more affordable.

I have one of the newer model MacBook Pro and as you know they have c-ports. So I obviously needed to get this extra item to be able to connect printers and other stuff, and it’s very useful. It’s a bit pricey for one small product but hey it’s Apple. Apple products to me are worth it!!!!!

I picked this up for the new Macbook Pro with Touch Bar and it is your typical high quality Apple look and feel. It's got all the ports you need and is a WAY better route to go than buying a generic one elsewhere. It's simply a dongle that will allow USB-A, HDMI and an additional USB-C pass through so you can still keep the computer charging while connecting other peripherals.

With the loss of USB ports and SD reader, the adapter is a necessity if you have external drives, or card readers, or an even a monitor. Very few devices are available at this time (8/17) with USB-C connectors, which makes the use of this adapter, and others (USB-C connected USB Hub) a necessity.

I do get annoyed by Apple. Soon I'll need 15 Multiports to use a single computer. Always work which is great. Price is Apple pricing. If they could standardize the ports at some point or make future ones compatible that would be great. Not sure I see the technological uplift that Apple sells.

The summary says it all; the product works as advertised. There are some "block" style adapters that hang off the side of the computer, but they looked cumbersome and seemed as if they would put too much stress on the USBC ports. For what I needed, this adapter is perfect.

We purchased the 12" Macbook which has a C port. C port is not compatible with any other device so this adapter was a must. There are 3 ports so comes in handy. The only disadvantage is that it is bulky to carry around. That is why we needed to purchase a sleeve for the Macbook that had a zippered pocket to fit this adapter and the charger. It is a must because of the c port.

Nothing flashy but does the job. I think it should have one more port for the price or at least have full charging through the usb c. If you are running heavy tasks with it plugged in via the dongle port, you’ll actually still lose power. I need to use the hdmi and usb a almost every day, so I avoided the third party accessories.

This adapter is a perfect companion for my new MacBook Pro with USB-C/USB 3 connections. It allows me to connect any USB device (like my Apple CD/DVD device, a second monitor via the HDMI and charge my iPhone/iPad at the same time. This is well worth the money and super easy to use. I even bought two!

This adapter does exactly what I need it to. I use it to plug my Mac to a larger monitor. I have no issues and it works perfectly so far. Some people don't like that it sticks out but I leave it plugged in to the monitor and not the laptop so that is not an issure for me.

Used this to connect my MacBook Pro to a TV via HDMI. It worked very well to stream Netflix, Hulu, etc. Worked very well. If you have purchased one of the new MacBooks then you have noticed that the computer has only USB-c ports. That means you need adapters for almost everything. This worked great.

This USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter is a must for the newer MacBook Laptops that lacks the necessary ports that were on older MacBook Laptops. It allows you to connect a USB-C port to an HDMI display, to a standard USB device, etc. It's an excellent product that you truly can not be without.

If you get a new MacBook, you really need to get this. Because until technology catches up to a new world where USB isn't necessary, you're going to wish you had this. I use this for thumb drives, and for my wireless USB mouse. I'm sure one day it will be obsolete, but for now, better safe than sorry!

Having only USBc, this device breaks out the port, allowing for use of an external monitor with HDMI and a standard USB for connecting a hub. You can maintain the charge while working by plugging in your adapter to the charge only port. Like always, I did my best to grab a deal by purchasing Open Box.
