It worked fine, I returned it because there wasn’t enough ports for me.

previous purchase of another brand heated up. Caused fan to come on laptop. had erratic behavior with USB peripherals. all work seamlessly with this adapter.

The adapter is quality, as with all Apple products. My complaint is that this adapter is even necessary. Replacing my 2011 MacBook Pro, meant changing all the adapters because the new MacBook Pros only come with two USB-C ports. This adapter is required, just to use the universal USB port for almost any device (printers, phones, etc.). I also had to get this adapter, because my Apple firewire to HDMI cable is now useless to my new machine. The third port is simply another USB-C port. That is essential, because you will have used your ONLY available port (aside from your charger, which is also USB-C) for this adapter. Then again, it would be much more functional if it had another standard USB or other port option so that you can actually connect to a device.

I purchased this for my child. I was informed it was needed for school. The Apple device she has works well with this device. We are both pleased with the purchase! It was reasonably priced and it works as stated!

I have the 2016 MacBook Pro 15 with touchbar. You need to become "dongle king" with this laptop because of the type C connectors. I do a lot of presentations, so I need dongles for serial ports and HDMI. I now have a dongle for everything! Works well.

With the new MacBook Pros, you need these and they have multiple inputs. Best Buy is matching Apple's price, so you will not find better prices of $49. If you need it, you simply need it--an incidental cost to owning a new MacBook that will, eventually, need be necessary as all move to USBC ports. But for now...

I buy a lot of adapters for our Macs. I've learned to just leave it to the Apple experts. This does what you'd expect it to do, nothing more and nothing less. I've had other brands crap out on me. So far, none of the Apple ones have.

Product does everything I ask it too. I was skeptical buying a non-apple dongle. I knew this one would work and not break my MacBook. I use it daily connected to a Dell U2517H, I also up-port the usb and use the monitor as a usb hub. Works fantastic.

Don't even think, just get one of these if you're getting the 12" MacBook. It's small enough to carry in almost any bag. At some point you're going to need a standard USB-A, or an HDMI port. Pricey as all get out for what it is. I like others like the Satechi (with charging passthrough), but that one doesn't have HDMI.

Great to hook up to a tv, projector or monitor. Also keeps the usb available to add on other accessories as well. Other brands available for less but I’m a firm believer in the saying “you get what you pay for.”

At first I thought I'd hate the need to have an adapter to connect anything to my new macbook. However, it very nicely moves the cables I had going to both sides of my previous mac to just one side. It works like a charm.

This adapter was thrown in free of charge when I bought my Macbook Pro and it is indispensable. The USB-C inputs are very fast but there aren't a good supply of adapters out there with USB-C. I use this for all my USB-A and HDMI needs. Very slick.

If you’re in need of bringing peripherals in or out of your 2019 IPAD this device is a must have. I need it for I/O to keyboards and to mixer then to speakers. I also use it for video out from IPAD to tv monitor.

This product is good, it does what is supposed to do. I hope it does not go bad on me as other brands I had to buy. I bothers me how Apple forces customers to buy accessories for their products but this will continue to happen until one day I decide not to buy Apple anymore.

Definitely worth my money! My son is 3years old and loves movie so having that hdmi plus the usb to transfer pictures in and out my laptop comes in handy! As well as transferring to my hard drinker and opening files.

Bought this device so I can use my new iPad as a blue ray on the road. Plug it in into an HDMI connection on the TV and can watch my movies, Netflix, etc. Be warned that HDR movies (4K) will not play on non 4K TVs.

Purchased for use with 2016 MBP because it did not have an HDMI port. The dongle worked out of the box after an automatic system update. Use it weekly without issues. Solid construction and better than another off-brand device that I tried.

good quality product compared to other alternatives out there in Amazon. Did not see any issues with data transfer using USB or 4K hdmi ports so far. Only disadvantage is price. Since Apple is forcing people to use only USB-c type ports and making this a necessity, they should be reducing the price too.

very reliable product. have had no connectivity or compatibility issues with this adapter. since it is pretty necessary to have an adapter of some kind if you have a MacBook 12-inch, I would recommend using this one because it works very well.

I got this to connect my MacBook Pro display to an HDTV. It works well for this purpose. It's expensive for what it does, though. Also, the extra USB-C port only supplies power... It doesn't allow you to connect another peripheral.
