That was to play audio in vehicle via lightening cord connected to 30pin iPod cable. I am able to charge my phone, but not through the 30pin. Only when connected to wall charger or cigarette lighter plug. I would not recommend to purchase if intentions are to daisy chain super old tech to new tech and have full use.

Works well but very overpriced

I only bought one because I sell at craft fairs and the cheapest Square card readers only work for lightning and headphone jack phones, and my new iPhone 15 doesn't have either. It does allow the Square lightning reader I already owned to function, and that is the most important thing.
