This component serves as advertised. You can keep your computer charging while you use it for presenting. Limitation is that there's only one USB slot. I wish it had one more, as my previous device (MacBook Air) had two USD ports.

all these new devises and parts...got my Mac and it needed one of these cords to charge my iPhone...and other items as well

This apple product is very useful when using iPads or iPhones.

This is just one of many, many things that Apple has minimized from their well designed MacBooks, just to give us all a rather costly computer, with a need for more, and more external utilities. I vaguely remember when a lot of these features were originally built into hefty PCs/laptops - but that ended sometime around 2005. In all - I needed this - so its great to have it (but not so great to pay for).

I was disappointed the new MacBook Pro did not have USB ports available, but this is easy enough to use. About an extra $65

Works very well, and relatively a small amount of space. Because my monitors do not have a USB port, I wish this adapter had more than one.

This works great with my new MacBook Pro and all the old monitors and flash drives that I hook up to my computer's new ports

Very good but too expensive I just bought a MacBook Pro and had to buy this to use.

I bought this for my daughter so she could easily connect an old monitor I had to her Mac. She didn’t think she’d need it, but now she can’t imagine writing a paper without two screens. Plus she’s able to watch Netflix on a bigger screen (than her laptop). Of course Apple stuff is stupidly expensive, but it’s high quality and my daughter loves it, so what’s a dad to do?
