Ummm it's an adapter for Apple because they like their silly little "proprietary" charging system. Jerks.

I always felt a cord is a cord, BUT I have experienced that an Apple Brand cord really is more efficient than a no-name brand, absolutely. My old cord was charging my device rapidly when compared to this new cord. When feasible, I will purchase Apple Brand connectors and chargers.

These things last forever for me, Replaced original from 2012, hope this holds up as well.

Have used subpar cables that break and quit working. This one seems to be of higher quality. No problems yet.
