Do yourself a favor and stay away from those rainbow displays of knock off cables and connectors, that are sitting on the counters of every pharmacy and gas station. It may have made a cute stocking stuffier, but has hopefully made it to the trash by now. The genuine Apple cable charges faster and more consistently than those knock off brands. Don't believe me, just touch the point where the cable joins the Apple Power Adapter. Here's a case where HOT is not so hot. Also, while you're using a genuine Apple cable, you can still USE your iPad WHILE charging, and see the battery charge increase. I only got the barest trickle of a charge when attempting to do that with the pretty purple cord my boys got me for Christmas, just to match the case they got me. Like I've said before, "Buy the Apple and NOT the applesauce"!

I needed a charger for my ipad and it was the only one available. Took it home and used a plug in with a USB I had around the house and it works fine.

I love my new charger. It's portable, reliable, and convenient. Unlike some of the no-name brands, this charger doesn't get hot it and it doesn't tend to be finicky (like one minute it's charging one minute it's not). I highly recommend this product. ☺️
