I have purchased many from numerous places and they always break so fast. This cord is semi-short, but you can purchase longer ones. The lifespan of this charger outweighs buying multiples of cheap brands over and over again.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do yourself a favor and stay away from those rainbow displays of knock off cables and connectors, that are sitting on the counters of every pharmacy and gas station. It may have made a cute stocking stuffier, but has hopefully made it to the trash by now. The genuine Apple cable charges faster and more consistently than those knock off brands. Don't believe me, just touch the point where the cable joins the Apple Power Adapter. Here's a case where HOT is not so hot. Also, while you're using a genuine Apple cable, you can still USE your iPad WHILE charging, and see the battery charge increase. I only got the barest trickle of a charge when attempting to do that with the pretty purple cord my boys got me for Christmas, just to match the case they got me. Like I've said before, "Buy the Apple and NOT the applesauce"!
