Nothing is going to happen to your item. And if it did, then just pay to have your phone fixed at the Apple store which is cheaper than you think.

It’s a ripoff!

Not covered per the Geek Squad supervisor because it’s “cosmetic damage”. I bought the iPad and AppleCare coverage directly from Best Buy and have been paying for 27 months. It was obvious Best Buy’s goal was to not cover any claims. BTW, BB makes you send in your device with any claims. BB also shows a video on their site for AppleCare+ showing a family dropping an iPad out the window of a car and the caption says “don’t worry, full accident coverage”. This is deceptive advertising.
